A couple
of campers at Camp Placid Pines decide
to pull a prank on one of their friends. To make
the prank extra good, they decide to do it at
the Placid Pines Cemetery. Naturally, the prank
goes wrong and one of the teens end up dead.
Five years later, the friends go back to Camp
Placed Pines only to be greeted by a masked killer
with a taste for revenge.

Bloody Murder one was a pretty bad Friday The 13th
rip-off and so when Bloody Murder 2 turned out to
be a quite original camp slasher flick I was more
than pleased. Unfortunately for me, Bloody Murder 3,
or The Graveyard as it's now called, turned out
to be about as bad as the first one.
The movie starts out with a couple of teens who
are supposedly campers at Camp Placid Pines.
Apparently, they have decided to pull a prank on
one of their friends at the Placid Pines
Cemetery and now, while I've never actually been
to a camp myself, I'm pretty sure that camps don't
get their own cemeteries. Except for perhaps
Camp Crystal Lake, Jason's slaughtered many teens
enough to be able to keep a cemetery going.
Anyway, so the prank goes wrong and a guy ends
up dead (cliché number one). Five years later
(cliché number two), the friends return to the
camp to face their demons and as expected, a
masked killer shows up slashing the teens one
by one. Naturally we get loads of other clichés
along the way as well. Lesbians showing up from
out of nowhere only to get killed, clues leading
up to the wrong killer, a stuck-up sheriff etc.
The Graveyard isn't quite as bad as the first
movie was though. While the acting is terrible,
the directing is actually pretty good with some
very nice angles (that actually impressed me).
The mask is also very original which was nice
to see, even though I'm not really sure why they
keep changing the killers mask in this series.
And I guess that the special effects aren't all
that bad really.
I'm not going to lie to you though, I am going
to check out Bloody Murder 4 as well. Slashers
with a masked killer are rare these days and
while most of the newer ones are pretty bad,
they're still entertaining enough for me to be
able to sit through them. If you're a complete
sucker for a masked slasher flick like me, give
Bloody Murder 3 a go, if not, I suggest you stay
far away from this one.

We get an impalement, a severed head, some
severed limbs, a couple of slit throats and a
little more, nothing special though.

Very weak soundtrack, can't even really be
bothered commenting on it.

While it's nice to see that people are still
making slasher flicks with a masked killer, it's
too bad that most of them end up like The
Graveyard. It's unfortunate that this didn't
turn out to be as good as Bloody Murder 2 but
I guess, if you're a fan of the series, check
it out as it's slightly better than the first one.
