One year ago, Hannah and Graham's son ended up in a coma
after a car accident. Now, they're slowly starting to
move on with their lives and have just bought a house
in the middle of the woods - hoping that they will get
some peace and quiet there. Unfortunately, that's just
the opposite of what they will be getting. It turns out
that the house holds a dark secret and it's using
Hannah to solve the mystery.

There's a comment on IMDb that states "Not good or
bad... it just is" and that pretty much sums up this
entire film. Grindstone Road is another mediocre made-
for-TV ghost story with an okay plot, okay acting,
okay directing, and an okay twist. It won't scare you,
it won't thrill you, it won't get you on the edge of
your seat, but it's kind of nice to just lay like a
dead seal on the couch and wait for the end credits
to roll. Yeah, it's the perfect hang-over horror flick
because even if you doze off for 20 minutes or so,
you haven't missed anything - and even if you don't
doze off, it's still interesting enough to keep you
moderately entertained.

The story is utterly plain. A couple moves to the
country while their son is in a coma (7 Days To Live?),
The mother, Hannah, is having a hard time coping with
the accident while the father, Graham, doesn't really
seem to care all that much. Hannah starts hearing and
seeing things in the house. Graham thinks that she's
going insane. Hannah tries to solve the mystery in the
house. Graham is now certain that Hannah is insane.
You know, it's the same old story that we've seen
several times before. The twist is okay but doesn't
do much for the story. Technical-wise, the movie looks
stellar. The directing is pretty basic, the acting is
average for TV-films (though I don't think that this
was a TV-film, but it sure as hell plays like one),
and you know, everything else is just... plain.

Movies like these are extremely difficult to review
since there's just nothing to say. I'm sure many of
you know exactly what I mean. It's an okay movie but
there's just nothing to say about it. It will leave
your memory as soon as it's over, it won't haunt you
in your dreams and if someone asks me in a week if
I've seen a movie called "Grindstone Road", I'll
probably say "Hmm, it sounds vaguely familiar but
I don't think so". Yeah, like I said, it's the perfect
hang-over flick but it's certainly not something that
I would recommend spending 5 bucks on - wait until it
shows on TV instead, it shouldn't take too long.

No.

Meh, plain.

Plain. Average. Forgettable. Mediocre. Four good words
to describe the content of this film. It's not good,
it's not bad, you'll stick with it until the end and
then forget everything about it. There's nothing more
to say really except; Meh.
