Two rival
bowling teams rent the local bowling alley
for one night so that they can play undisturbed. Well,
playing undisturbed may be difficult since someone who
is indeed VERY disturbed has just crashed their party.
Someone is killing off the teens one by one in the
most goriest of ways and it's all coming up on the
scoreboard under the name BBK. So the question is, who
the fuck is BBK?

This one is a hard nut to crack. I'm really not sure
what I should say because I know Gutterballs is a love
it or hate it movie. Hardcore horror fans will
probably enjoy the hell out of this just like I did,
but others may not enjoy it quite as much. Gutterballs
is an homage to 80s slasher flicks and you can really
tell. The teaser posters for this flick were altered
versions of the posters for Halloween and Maniac but
it's nothing like these two movies. In fact, Gutterballs
is not reminiscent of the early 80s theatrical slasher
flicks, it's more reminiscent of the late 80's-early
90's DTV slasher flicks such as The Last Slumber Party.
Don't let that put you off though because Gutterballs
is campy for the sake of being campy - sometimes it
works - sometimes it doesn't - but overall you will
have one hell out of time watching this film.
Gutterballs is a film to be watched together with your
friends. It's got hardcore sex scenes (these will be
removed for the DVD release, they're only in the
Insomnifest version), it's got over-the-top gore scenes
(some of which may also be cut) and it's got the
strangest of characters. Seriously, these characters
are so bizarre that I can't even explain it. Anyway,
so now you know why horror fans will love this film.
So why is it not for everyone? Well, I'm not sure that
all will get the fact that it's campy for the sake of
being campy. It's meant to be this way. If you're a
horror fan you will most likely find it funny and
entertaining but if you're not, you may not quite get it.
The acting is definitely a mixed bag as well. Some of
the actors are quite good while some are not. The
movie is also quite dark and sometimes it's
difficult to see what's going on. That didn't distract
much from the movie though, it even added to the
whole 80s feel of the movie. I'm sure many of
you are a bit put off by the fact that Ryan was
responsible for the movie "Live Feed" which was widely
discredited. Don't be. Gutterballs is nothing like
Live Feed. It's a vast improvement and I'm sure that
we can expect even better things from Mr. Nicholson in
the future. If you're looking for a gory slasher flick
that really does feel like it was made in the late 80's,
look no further. Gutterballs offers us something we
haven't seen in ages and I commend Ryan for daring to
make a film like this. With all the gore and sex scenes
and nudity, I'm sure this will be a bit controversial,
but for horror fans this is a definite must. I loved it.

I don't really know where to start. This movie is just
insanely gory and will definitely satisfy all you
gore hounds out there so let's just keep it at that.

Terrific. Really fit the theme. It's all about campy
80's pop music and it really works.

Gutterballs is a love it or hate it movie and if you're
not a hardcore horror fan, you may not quite get the
movie. If you are in love with 80's slasher flicks
and realize that this movie isn't to be taken completely
seriously though - you will definitely enjoy this one.
A gory and hugely entertaining slasher flick made by
horror fans for horror fans.
