As a young
boy, Gabriel witnessed his parents
deaths. Now, he's all grown up and has become
a messenger of god, just like his father was,
and he's decided to kill off all the non-believers
in his town one by one. Who will survive this
massacre and how can this "god killer" be stopped.

It was only about a week ago when I saw Visual
Entertainment's "Harvest Of Fear", a terrible
slasher flick which later got a remake called
"The Path Of Evil" which was even worse. Well
unfortunately for me, Hallowed follows the same
pattern. In 1999, a movie called Godsend: The
Evil Decimation was made, though I'm pretty sure
it never found a proper distributor. Seven years
later, this awful remake shows up in our local
retailers and unaware of just how bad this is,
we fall for the kick-ass cover and rent it.
Just like with "The Path Of Evil", most of the
cast is the same and so are their characters. Now,
I never got to see the original (which I'm quite
pleased about after having sat through this) but
I can't seem to quite understand what they wanted
to achieve by doing this remake. It's not like
it's got an original story or anything, it's a
psychotic priest killing off people (apparently
non-believers) at random. And the movie is only
about 60 minutes long so it's not much longer
than the original either. So what was the
purpose of this remake? I guess we'll never know.
Luckily, Hallowed doesn't even look nearly as
homemade as Maverick Entertainment's releases
do but it's far from good enough and I just
don't see how this managed to find distribution.
Don't go in thinking that this will be a kick-ass
slasher flick because it's not. Good Night, God
Bless is a much better psycho-priest movie and
that's saying a lot. Skip this low-rent slasher
remake and get something else instead.

Some minor blood, nothing special.

Cheap computer made score.

While I do want to support indie film-makers,
I just can't stand sitting through incompetent
slasher flicks such as this one. Clearly this
wasn't made by slasher-fanatic people or the
result would have been much better. Don't check
this one out as it's not worth your time, even
if it's only sixty minutes long.
