Six people are going to star in an online reality show on
Halloween, where they are supposed to investigate Michael
Myers birth house. Well, soon enough, Michael pops up to
join in on the fun and people who are watching it online
are naturally assuming that it's all part of the show. But
when the actors start showing up dead, the show turns into
grim reality.

Since
Halloween: H20 was a huge success, it was obvious
that it wouldn't take too long before another sequel would
be showing up in theatres all over the US. Even if this
was released after the slasher wave had ended, Halloween
Resurrection still managed to pull in a decent amount of
money, clearing the path for yet another sequel. Now, I know
that many people hate this but I think that Halloween:
Resurrection is one of the better sequels. The budget for
the movie was clearly quite good and I for one enjoy it
when a slasher flick has a high budget as you might all
ready have figured out.
The story is anything but original as we had all ready seen
a bunch of movies where web cams are used to create the
suspense when this came out. The movie also felt heavily
inspired by The Blair Witch Project which wasn't a very
smart move. However, I still think that this is a highly
entertaining sequel, even if it's anything but original.
There is one part of the movie where a guy text messages
one of the girls in the house which is just brilliantly
executed and keeps us on the edge of our seats.
The fact that Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) dies in the
opening scene (which by the way is 16 minutes long!? 16
minutes before the title of the movie shows up is not very
common) upset many horror fans but I really think that it
was needed as the opening scene for this flick might be
the best opening scene ever for a Halloween movie. It really
does stay true to the first movie. The acting is pretty
good in this flick even though there are few characters to
root for (I mean, who the fcuk roots for Busta Rhymes?
I for one wish that he would die every time he showed up).
The directing is very nice as well and even though there
aren't many scares, it's still entertaining enough.
Halloween: Resurrection might not win any awards for being
original but at least they approached the Michael Myers
story a little differently this time rather than having
a babysitter run around for 1.30 hours, it was fun once
or twice but it's been done. It's definitely not a movie
for everyone and probably too mainstream for most Halloween
fans but I for one liked this flick even though it has
a couple of problems. I can't wait to check out Halloween:
Retribution next year.

We get a decapitation and a couple of impalements but as
usual, this is too mainstream to be really gory.

We get a soundtrack here which was obviously trying to
attract the teen audience since we get lots of R'n'B music,
some rock music, and some hip hop music. Nothing special.

Unoriginal as hell but also highly entertaining Halloween
sequel which can only be enjoyed by people who don't care
about small flaws or the fact that the movie's mainstream.
I only wish that they would have killed off Busta Rhymes
in the opening scene as I am not a big fan of him, or his
music! Overall, this is a very worthy sequel in my opinion
and I can't wait to see another one.
