Five friends are looking to get into a sorority but
naturally they have to do the test first. The five
friends have to collect a couple of things during
the night and then stay the night in a haunted house.
Well, everything goes accordingly, or so it seems
and they've got all the stuff that they needed. The
only thing left is the night... and it is going to
be one hell of a night as well.

From the guy who gave us terrors (and not the good
kind) like The Killer Eye and There's Nothing Out
There comes this surprisingly entertaining movie.
It starts out pretty average but as the movie goes
along it gets more and more entertaining. On the
box art they call it a "mix between Scream and The
Evil Dead". Well, it's a mix between Evil Dead and
something but it ain't Scream. I think it's pretty
similar to the new horror comedy "Dead and Breakfast"
in some aspects, which I also really enjoyed.

Tiffany Shepis has really shepised up! I mean, just
look at her, she started out as a hot chick who
was an average actress who only starred in cheesy
Tempe or Brain Damage productions, much like Debbie
Rochon (only much more good-looking) and now she
stars in movies like Detour and The Hazing which is
a really big step up. And she deserves it! I guess
all those, might I say crappy, low-budget horror movies
must have shaped her in someway because she's
become a terrific actress. The rest of the cast is
very good as well I have to say. I especially liked
Brad Dourif as the psycho teacher, the scene at
the hospital was hilarious and you could just imagine
the panic that the girl in the next room must've felt.
I know that doesn't make much sense to you right
now, but think about it when you watch the movie,
because I highly recommend that you do watch it.

The story is pretty simple so there are no big
plot holes in it either and I really don't have
anything to complain about here. I guess when it
comes to MTI video, one can never know what to
expect. I just enjoy the occasional horror movie
that doesn't take itself too seriously and brings
us a couple of laughs on the way as well. Still,
it delivers a lot of jumps as well! Watch out for
this one, it's a pretty clever little flick.

A girl gets two needles in her eyes, a guy gets
an axe in his head (and man did that look real
or what), a guy gets a dart-arrow in his head and
finally a guy gets decapitated. It's gory as well!

The funky soundtrack feels really suiting and
gives it that original feeling. In fact, the
soundtrack felt very original. A+.

Surprisingly good horror comedy in the vein of Dead
and Breakfast. If you, like me, are a fan of sarcastic
horror movies with a little more bite to it than the
average horror comedy, check this one out. It delivers
what it promises, and a whole lot more as well!
