Cassandra is having dreams in which she sees some
old high school friends dying. She decides to invite
them all to a fake reunion in order to save them,
but will she succeed? Meanwhile, a killer is lurking
outside around the house and it seems as if anyone
who goes outside is slaughtered.

Slashers are rare these days, even bad DTV ones so
I was actually looking forward to watching Lions
Gate's latest horror release, Heebie Jeebies, even
though their DTV movies usually are anything but good.
Well, Heebie Jeebies might not be as awful as the
majority of Lions Gate's DTV horror flicks, but it
still wasn't very good.

The story is basically built up as an anthology, much
like the Indian horror flick "Darna Mana Hai", which
we reviewed here a while ago. See, the main movie is
a slasher flick, but we also get to see short stories
about how each character was really supposed to die
and they really don't die in any slasher manor, let
me tell you about the stories.

First up is a story about a brother playing a prank
on his sister which goes way too far. This is a
pretty stupid and ludicrous story which would just
never happen. First of all, no one would make up
such an evil prank unless they were seriously disturbed
and second of all, no one would go mentally insane
after being put through such a prank.

The second story revolves around a guy who steals
some ancient mud statue of some triplets. Well, these
triplets turn out to be alive (!) and they are not
friendly creatures. This was also, a very stupid and
unrealistic story with some of the worst CGI-effects
I have ever seen (even though I bet that the film
makers were very pleased with this cheap effect).

The third and final story is about a girl who
accidentally hits a man with her car in the middle
of the night. She gets help from a nice local and
they decide to bury the body (yeah right). But soon
she realizes that this might not be such a friendly
local after all. This was definitely the dullest of
the three stories and almost put me to sleep.

Over-all, I basically wish that the main story
would have gotten more focus than it did as that
was clearly the best one. The short stories thrown
in to make this a full length feature were all
pretty bad. If you're looking for a low budget DTV
slasher flick, Heebie Jeebies might not be what
you're looking for since there's is very little
focus on the slasher aspect of the movie, but you
could still do a whole lot worse than this.

We get a slit throat, a severed head, some gory
bodies, an arm chopped off and more. It does have
some gory, but it's not exactly shocking.

The hip hop beats were pretty bad but other than
that, I found the soundtrack to be quite pleasant
for the ears. Managed to set a good atmosphere.

Heebie Jeebies was nothing like I had expected it
to be. It's basically a slasher flick with some
short stories thrown into it. If you liked the
horror flick "Campfire Tales", you might turn out
to like this as well. I just think that the stories
could have been blended into the movie in a better
way. This is a whole lot better than most of Lions
Gates DTV horror flicks though.
