A family of four moves into a new house. The
daughter quickly grows attached to the play-
house in the garden where she claims that her
newfound elf friends are living. Her teacher
gets a bit concerned about her antisocial
behaviour, it's been two weeks since she began
in the new school and she still has no friends but her
"imaginary" elf friends. What everyone believes
are imaginary friends anyway, the truth is that
they're real, and they're not elves.

Well hey, this was actually quite cool. Who would
have known that a lowbudget horrormovie about
killer elves would actually turn out to be a
totally okay movie. It's a little like a flashback
from the 80's and early 90's and it somewhat
reminded me of Dolly Dearest. Oh and hey, it
might be a cheesy story but at least it was
original. My favourite excuse for every weird
horrormovie that I actually find myself enjoying
these days. At first I thought that I was in
for a monster movie actually, judging by the
front cover of the movie I don't think that
anyone can suspect that it involves killer elves.

Kelly Sandefur is responsible for the directing
in this movie. Kelly is also responsible for
the DTV horrormovie Fangs and I Downloaded A
Ghost. Is it just me who's beginning to see
a pattern here? Three family horrormovies in
only a couple of years, I think we can expect
many more in the near future from Kelly. The
directing does look pretty slick though, it's
really full frame DTV at its best. The acting
is also pretty good. No name actors but still
recognizable faces.

So why did I like it as much as I did? I don't
know, I guess I had just expected this to be
a safe way to fall asleep easily. The story
was predictable but entertaining which kept the
movie going. Sometimes we just need a clichéd
story. I knew from five minutes into the movie
how it would evolve. Now to some of the bad
things about the movie, nothing major but some
things that just annoyed me. The teen boy doesn't
become a murder suspect after being found with
an old guy with a screwdriver jammed in his
stomach, the police doesn't even seem to bother
questioning him. He later on goes to his room
to listen to some techno music, even if his
room is filled with Linkin' Park posters. Things
like this just got a little frustrating. All
in all, it's a pretty descent movie, but it's
really nothing special.

A guy gets a screwdriver in the stomach, nothing
worse than that. As I said, family horror.

Some techno music and some cool piano music
fills this score. But I was most impressed by
the tune playing from the musical box, I really
dug that, had a kind of creepy feeling to it.

Better than I had expected it to be. Nothing
special at all but I thought it was pretty good
for a DTV horrormovie. Very light horror,
something that might be more entertaining for
the younger audience but still pretty cool.
I suggest you check it out. You might be surprised.
