A volunteer worker goes to a house to help an old lady
who lives with her son and his wife. When she comes to the
house, the only one in the house is the old lady and there
are things covering the floor everywhere. She decides to
start cleaning up a bit but when she starts hearing strange
noises from upstairs, curiosity takes over and terror begins.

Since the original was alright, I thought that this would
be maybe a tad better, I was wrong, this was dead better,
the thing is that I hate this movie so much since it's so
god damn scary and doesn't give you a second to relax. This
is definitely a good thing though but I had to call a friend
over to be able to get past the first hour and I am not
easily frightened. While you still have to follow the movie
to the fullest like in the first one to be able to understand
anything at all, this actually does make sense which I didn't
think that the first one did.

The directing is just amazing and while it feels a bit as
if the director went out on the Ringu concept a bit too much
its still really good. The acting is also terrific and some
of these actors have a lot of potential and I wouldn't be
surprised to see them again in the near future. You can
really tell that they had a higher budget for this theatrical
version than the original TV version as not only does it
look better but everything about it creates the most excellent
atmosphere in a horrormovie ever.

If you haven't already figured it out, this is to the day
the scariest horrormovie I have ever seen. That is both
negative and positive for me, mainly positive but what
bugged me was that I wasn't able to see everything that
was going on as I had to hold a hand in front of my eyes
and glimpse through a hole between my fingers at moments.
I've seen this three times in two days now since I wasn't
able to get through it the first time but I know that not
everyone will find this as scary as I did as one of my
friends thought that this wasn't scary at all while the
other friend was scared to death and just to mention it,
both are hardcore horrormovie fans.

I'm sorry but gore hounds will be disappointed. Nothing more
than a couple of bloody stains really.

This basically consisted of eerie noises and scary sound
effects but it works!

How to describe this movie... well, imagine the scariest
scene of a horrormovie you have ever seen and show that
scene over and over again but everytime it's as if you
haven't seen it before and you have Ju-On. This movie
is scary from the moment it starts till the opening titles
and doesn't give you a chance to relax and breath.
If you thought that The Ring was scary, Ju-On will be
your death.
