A bunch of teenagers have gathered for a night of
drinking and having sex. When Debbie and Mike see
a shooting star they decide to go to see if they
can find it. Instead of pieces from a star they find
a carnival tent set up in the middle of the woods.
They find it a bit strange but decide to check it
out anyway. It doesn't take long before they realize
that they are inside of the shooting star. It
appears that killer clowns have come to feast on
the locals in their town but who will believe their
story? Can the killer clowns be stopped?

One of the cult classics that came out of the 80's.
This is one of the few PG-13 horrorcomedies that
I actually enjoy. It's a bit like Gremlins in the
way that the monsters are cute and make you laugh
but underneath their cute surface they're vicious
killers. Even though I knew that the movie would
be entertaining I had no idea how well done it was.
Everything is here. Dead bodies wrapped up in
flossed candy, popcorn that comes to life, giant
balloons for preservation of women. What did they
miss? You can tell that they must've had a good
time making the sets for this.

Rather unknown actors in this, surprisingly enough.
This is one of those movies that you expect many
big names to grow out of. We have Grant Cramer,
whose biggest movie after this was the terrible
DTV flick Raptor, where he didn't even have a big
part, such a waste of talent. Then we have
Suzanne Snyder who was in Fools Rush In, but
also just in a very small part. The most well-
known actor is probably John Allen Nelson who
starred in the TV-series Baywatch. Anyway, the
acting is as I said, very good. So is the directing.
I'm still most satisfied with the things that
the set managers managed to do though.

It took me way too long before I sat down and
watched this movie. I have to see some more
cult horrormovies that I've missed these days.
If you enjoyed Gremlins as much as I did,
I doubt that you will hate Killer Klowns From
Outer Space. This is a genuine idea and it's
a shame that it never got bigger than it did.
I will try to shut up about how good it was
now, all I have to tell you is; SEE IT!

Mmmmm, candyfloss... Where was I? Oh, yeah,
the gore. Well, we get to see people wrapped
up with bloody faces in candy floss and we
also get a rather humoristic head dismemberment.
Nothing for the gore hounds. PG-13.

Popped up carnival music. Works pretty well
but I wouldn't have minded some more tension
in the soundtrack.

This is a must see for anyone who enjoyed
Gremlins or hates the guts out of the
Teletubbies. Cult flick that is not to be
missed. It's not really a horrormovie
though as much as a comedy so don't
expect to get scared. Don't show this
to your children though or they will be
scared of clowns for the rest of their lives.
