Zombies are taking over the world and while man is
desperately trying to stop them in various ways,
nothing seems to be helping, there are simply too
many of them. Will they be able to stop these
terrible zombies before it's too late?

Five years ago I saw a movie that I really didn't
like called Bruiser. That movie was directed by
legendary horror film director George A. Romero.
Land Of The Dead is yet another excellent example
of the fact that Mr. Romero can't keep up with
time. While Land of The Dead might succeed in
satisfying the horror audience that consider his
zombie movies cult flicks, he fails to satisfy the
biggest target, the mainstream movie goer.

I'm not a big fan of zombie movies but Romero's
old zombie flicks are still old favourites of mine.
However, making a new sequel without thinking of
the fact that time has changed since then doesn't
work for me at all. It seems as if he's had the
script ready for years and then just modified it
a little with newer technical things. Well, he
doesn't fool me and I doubt he fooled anyone else
in the audience either since people were actually
laughing at numerous times where they really
weren't supposed to.

My biggest issue with this movie is the fact that
there are too many zombies and to little story,
and the little story that exists really could've
been written by a six year-old. The reason to why
I'm giving this such a high rating is because I
know that if this movie would've been made back
when Romero was on top, I would have loved it and
considered it another cult it. In this day in age
though, I really understand why it flopped.

A lot of zombie gore so I won't even go into
further detail, you know the drill, heads being
shot off, legs and arms being ripped off etc.

Nothing special, very average score.

Land Of The Dead might have been a hit if it was
made back when the other "... of the dead" movies
were made, but the fact is that this was made in
the year 2005 and you just have to have a better
story if you want to make a hit these days. For
fans of the original cult series this is a must,
but for the mainstream audience, this will probably
fail to impress.
