Andie MacDowell in a horror film? This can not be
happening one might think to themselves, well,
don’t you worry, it's not. The Last Sign has been
falsely marketed as a horror film when really it's
a drama thriller which in my opinion looks like a
cheap TV-movie. It appears that I was wrong,
apparently this had a budget of approximately 15
million dollars. So why did we not get to see this
in theatres? Well, I'm thinking that it's due to
the fact that it's just not that good. The Last
Sign is one of those films that you can suspect
looked great as a script but did not look quite
as good when you saw the end result.
The movie has many problems. Let's begin with the
fact that the movie doesn't lead anywhere. Nothing
really ever happens that leads to something and
when there's only three minutes left and the big
conclusion of the movie is about to be revealed,
we're left with nothing. The conclusion really
didn't feel like a conclusion at all, you might
say that the entire movie was a big anticlimax.
So you might wonder why I gave it such a "high"
rating. Well, the movie does also have its strong
sides. Andie MacDowell being one of them. Then we
have the drama part which was also really good,
the characters were likeable and realistic and the
directing was stylish, though not 15 million dollar
stylish. I guess all the money went to Andie huh.
Suffice to say The Last Sign will not please those
who are expecting a horror film, it will probably
satisfy middle-aged women who are looking for
some mysterious and romantic drama thriller more.
With that being said I can also tell you that I
am not a middle-aged woman and therefore I did not
enjoy this that much. I think it does have it's
strength and charm and as a drama thriller I can
agree that this is kind of good but as a horror flick,
this does not work at all.

None.

Powerful and dramatic, just the way it should be.

Perhaps the false marketing made me disappointed,
perhaps the fact that I can't really enjoy drawn-
out drama thrillers that much left me unsatisfied.
Either way, this is a good movie for those who are
looking for a drama thriller but it will not please
die-hard horror fans.
