A group of evil ghost geckos are unleashed and attack
a couple of people making their victims turn into
lizard people. After having wreaked havoc amongst a
group of people in the forest, the gecko spirits are
ready to move onto the big city to kill anyone they
can find, targetting a young woman. Is there any way
to stop these evil geckos? And who's the weird woman
that seems to be leading them?

It's not often that I get worked up over a Thai
horror flick but I had really been looking forward
to seeing Lizard Woman, especially after it topped
the Thai box-office chart for almost 3 weeks. Sadly,
this turned out to be yet another stupid Thai flick
about a "The Grudge" girl who kills people, only
this time she brought evil geckos with her as well.
So you could basically say that this is The Grudge
featuring The Lizards. What surprised me even more
was that the female ghost didn't have a big part
in the movie, the focus is on the evil geckos
which makes this feel like any other horrid creature
feature. Even if this might be a legend in Thailand
I still don't get why it was such a big success.
The movie does look good, the photography is nice
and the directing is slick as well, even the
acting is relatively good. It's the absolutely
abysmal story that made me hate this flick. It's
just too stupid. It seems as if they couldn't
focus on one story, instead we get a ghost woman,
possessed people and an army of killer geckos.
Normally one of these three would have been
enough but I guess they wanted to mix three
concepts together and hope for the best. Another
thing about the story that annoyed me was the
fact that the so called opening scene lasted for
over 30 minutes. Normally an opening scene should
last for maximum 10 minutes and believe me, it
could have been told in 10 minutes as well. It
almost felt as if the opening scene was meant to
be the main plot but after a while they realized
that it wouldn't last very long so they decided
to cut to a completely different story.
However, no matter how abysmal this was, I still
have to give it some credit for managing to give
me a couple of scares. It's a nonsense movie but
the scares kept me from shutting it off. This is
still just as bad as most other Thai horror
flicks I've seen though so at the end of the day
I was disappointed when the movie didn't live
up to my expectations. I don't recommend that
you check this out, it's simply not worth it
even if it does have a couple of scares here
and there.

We get some white corpses and a girl coughing
a whole lot of blood.

Pretty intense score actually, works
perfectly for the movie to create a good
atmosphere, unfortunately, a solid soundtrack
couldn't save this disaster.

Lizard Woman did not live up to my expectations
in any way and I was very disappointed to see
that this is no better than any other rubbish
Thai DTV flick out there, and this was a
theatrical feature. Even if it gave me a
couple of scares this is still too pathetic
to watch, so avoid this one.
