A married woman is at her lover's place when she finds
out the tragic news that her son has drowned. In a rush
she puts on her clothes and forces her lover to drive
her home, she's in such panic that she makes her lover
lose control of the car and they end in a car accident,
decapitating the lover. The woman gets put in an asylum
for one year but now she's out and she's decided to stay
with her lover's blind brother. Everything seems fine
at first but soon the blind brother suspects that
something is terribly wrong.

This film sure does live up to its title. What don't we
get in this macabre Italian horror movie? Well, an
interesting story that's one thing. See, this is a
clever movie but not until the last half an hour of
the movie. The first hour is pretty dull and not very
interesting at all, it really feels like a slow drama
with a lot of sexual moaning in it. Well, those Italian
directors love their sleaze. I can't say that I was
impressed with this movie. I had actually expected it
to be better. I know that it's a cult flick and when
I finally decide to sit down and watch a cult flick,
they're usually worth the while, but this one was very
average, though very original.

I don't know why Lamberto Bava is such a big name in
the horror world, he made ONE, let me repeat, ONE really
good horror movie and that was A Blade In The Dark.
Movies like Demons were only average in my opinion.
Must be due to his father. Anyway, he's a quite good
director but nothing that stands out from the other
Italian horror movie directors that were also active
at this time. The acting is quite good though, the
little girl is really just made out to be a psycho.

With a little more suspense and a better and more
realistic story, this might have been a good movie.
But to me this was only very average. If the last
minutes of the movie were cut out, this would only
have gotten 2/5. Also, I think that the blind person
in Italian classic horror movies has been done to
death. Also, we always knew what was in that fridge.
This just wasn't waterproof enough for me to be
able to fully enjoy it. Very macabre flick though
and I guess that was the whole point anyway.

A dismembered head and a lot of things around it but
that's the only gory thing. You get the impression
that this would've been gorier with a cover that shows
a screaming woman getting sprayed with blood.

It's pretty good, as always in Italian horror movies.
This is class. A lot of saxophone and harmonica
music fills this movie's score. Also some very nice
and atmosphere setting piano music helps this movie.

Lives up to its title but nothing more. The movie is
macabre but it's still not very interesting for most
of the time. If you want to get grossed out, I guess
you should check it out. It's very viewable but I
wouldn't call it brilliant.
