Two years
ago, Richard's wife died and he has
since then lived with Laci, his dead wife's
sister, and his two children. He has been dating
a woman named Nicole for a while now and they
have finally decided to get married. Well, Laci
doesn't take these news too well since she has
a secret crush on him, and she will do just about
anything to stop this marriage from happening.

As expected, Maid Of Honor is heavily inspired
by "The Stepfather" and while Lions Gate are
trying to sell this as a horror flick, it's in
fact a heavily clichéd TV-thriller. Linda Purl
stars as Laci Collins who is a psychotic woman
in love with her dead sisters husband. When she
gets competition from a young woman called Nicole
Harris (played by the beautiful Shannon Sturges),
she decides to step up her game.
There's nothing new about this movie at all and
it feels like we've seen this a hundred times
before, but that didn't really bother me since
the story was very well developed. The movie has
a good pace and even though it fails to live up
to its DVD-cover, it does entertain to a certain
extent. Linda Purl is a very talented actress and
plays the part as a psychotic woman very well
and I did really understand her motives. I mean,
she's been living with this guy and taking care
of his children for over two years of time and
he decides to marry some slinky author instead of
her - that's definitely a slap in the face.
It's very obvious that this was a made-for-TV
production and I really felt like I was watching
an episode of "Desperate Housewives" rather than
a horror flick. I love that show however so that's
not a negative thing to me. All I'm saying is that
perhaps this is a thriller more suited for women
than for men. It doesn't have any nudity in it,
it has close to no gore and it plays like a TV-soap.
Not a bad movie but perhaps not for everyone.

Nothing worth mentioning.

Standard stuff, I have no comments here.

Mildly entertaining TV-thriller which feels more
like a TV-soap than a horror movie. Definitely a
movie that you can watch together with your
girlfriend but it's not exactly a macho flick
so if you're going to check this one out, don't
expect a lot of gore or horror.
