A woman and her
daughter have been kidnapped by a
bunch of bank robbers who have decided to stay the
night in a house in the middle of nowhere. When
the daughter manages to escape to a nearby house,
she has no idea that she just escaped into the
house of a serial killing psychopath, putting not
only herself but also her mother and the robbers
in fatal danger.

I have been waiting for so long to get to see
this flick and as soon as it arrived in my mail
box I started watching it. I was not disappointed.
Malevolence is a relatively disturbing, yet very
creepy semi-slasher flick with an original twist
on the concept. Much like Satan's Little Helper,
this can be classified as a pure slasher but it
sure doesn't feel like one while you're watching
it. It's more of a psychological thriller if
anything. It had me on the edge of my seat through
almost the entire movie and I just loved the
creepy atmosphere that they had set up.
The acting is very good for a low budget horror
flick. You even root for the bank robbers as these
are not just stereotypical jerks but actually
real human beings that have the ability to show
feelings towards other people. Speaking of low
budget, I know it had a very limited budget but
I'm surprised that this didn't get a wide theatrical
release as it looks just as good as any other
flick out there and it sure as hell is the most
entertaining theatrical flick I've seen in quite
a while. So the real question is; how come the
majority of great horror flicks go straight to
video? They deserve better!
When you read the plot for this movie you might
think that it's pretty basic, but it's not. You
are not bored for one second while watching it
as the story sucks you in deeper and deeper, a
fair description of the plot in words just can't
be done, you have to see it to believe it. I was
hoping that this would be an entertaining flick
but it was simply so much more. This is a must
for anyone who enjoys horror flick every once in
a while, skip the rubbish theatrical ones like
Boogeyman, White Noise and Hide & Seek, go rent
this ultimately chilling flick instead and you
will not be disappointed.

A couple of knife stabbings and some corpses but
not a whole lot of gore in here.

Excellent soundtrack to create the right atmosphere,
it almost felt as if I was watching an homage to
Friday The 13th. The suspense would be inconsistent
if it wasn't for the terrifying soundtrack.

Excellent horror thriller which will not only
entertain slasher fans but also fans of all other
kinds of horror flicks. Very creepy and yet
relatively disturbing. This has got to be seen
to be believed, one of the best horror flicks I'll
see this year without a doubt.
