There's something about Mandy Lane that all the boys
love - but she's not an easy catch. When she agrees to
go to a ranch with her friends for the weekend, all
the boys try to figure out a way to get her away from
everyone else so that they can be alone with her...
and someone has figured out the most effective
way to do so.

It's not very often that slasher flicks get a lot of
hype these days but if there's one movie that has
succeeded in getting just that, it's this one. The
trailer really made the movie look like a good old
slasher movie with all the right ingredients, and while
the movie doesn't quite live up to its trailer, it's
still a terrific slasher flick. I knew from the moment
that the title of the movie came up that this was
going to be something out of the ordinary. The title
is presented in the coolest font ever only to be
spattered with blood moments later. If the title of a
movie gets you excited, you know that they've done
something right.

Mandy Lane isn't your typical high school girl. She's
untouched, she's independent and she doesn't seem to
be aware of how beautiful she is. All the boys in
Mandy's school are though and will do anything to
get her. When she agrees to come on a trip to a ranch
together with her friends, the guys think that they're
in heaven. What no one knows is that this weekend is
going to be pure hell. Someone has taken his love for
Mandy Lane a step too far and is killing the competition
off - one by one. You know, it's the basic slasher
formula but they've done something different with the
concept. Even though the movie clearly takes place in
the 21st century, it's got this 70's feel about it.
I couldn't help but to be reminded of some of the
underrated slasher classics from the early 80's when
I saw this film.

I also loved how this didn't turn out to be a whodunit
film (which I am SOOO sick of). We know who the killer
is pretty much right away so that the focus lies on
the characters instead. And you know, Mandy Lane may
be a great character but I liked almost every single
character in this film because they're all a big part
of the movie. I was afraid that they would only focus
on Mandy but I was pleased to see that this was not
the case. When it comes to gore and nudity, this movie
doesn't have a lot of that - that's not what this movie
is about (thankfully). It's got some minor gore and
some quick boob shots but that's about it. This made
the movie feel all that more classy.

In the end, Mandy Lane was definitely worth the wait.
It's a top-notch slasher flick which dares to bring
something different to the table. It may not have had
the best production values but they've done an amazing
job with what they had (even though the cinematography
feels a bit off at times). Hopefully this won't go
straight to DVD in the states as this really is one of
the best slashers that I've seen in a long time.
An outstanding horror flick, not to be missed.

Not a lot to be said here. Some blood splatter, a bashed
in mouth, some stabbings.

One word; Aweeeeesum! I absolutely loved it. Seriously,
best score for a movie in a long time. Yes! Brilliant!

A clever and refreshing slasher flick which will even
impress the mainstream audience (as well as the regular
slasher crowd of course). All the boys love Mandy Lane
is one of the best slasher flicks that I've seen in
years and I can't wait for the DVD release. I will be
the first one in line when it's out, that's for sure.
