Saikaew has just moved to a new apartment and quickly
grows attached to a young girl who's living there. The
young girl calls herself "little sister" and is as
sweet as kids can be - at least that's how it seems.
Saikaew's friends however suspect that there's something
evil living in her apartment...

Man, did I get ripped off or what? As most of my DVD
purchases, this was a blind buy. And while I usually
skip DTV Thai horror flicks, I thought that the cover
for this one was pretty cool and decided to give it
a chance. Big mistake. First of all, it's not a Ring
rip-off as the cover may imply, in fact, it's really
not a horror movie at all. Second of all, it's not a
feature film, which is perhaps why the cover doesn't
state the running time of the movie which is 48 minutes.
How a company can sell a movie like this for full price
is to me just horrible. Shame on, ehmm, let's see...
SKY ENTERTAINMENT DISTRIBUTION LTD! and MonoFilm.

This semi horror-drama tells the story of Saikaew, a
teenage girl who has just moved into a new apartment.
She soon gets a visit from Little Sister (that is
actually her name in the movie), a young girl who she
quickly grows fond of (no, not in a lesbian way, it's
a kid for crying out loud). Obviously the girl is a
ghost who wants a friend, but Saikaew doesn't know this.
So where's the horror part you ask? Well Little Sister
has a big sister, who by the looks of it, is evil. Do
you know how we know that? Because she's wearing a red
dress - a RED DRESS I tell you, creepy stuff here.

Unfortunately, big sister is only in the movie for a
total of 15 seconds, and never do anything even remotely
frightening or evil. It turns out that little sister
is actually the one we're supposed to be scared of
since she wants Saikaew all for herself, and scares
of her friends by turning her eyes white. Seriously,
no one gets hurt in the movie, and the ghosts are the
most likeable characters in the movie. Anyway, the
movie ends abruptly and the only words that you can
come up with are "that's it!?".

The Mansion Sister is watchable as a drama, but nothing
you'll want to insert into the DVD player on Halloween.
This is not PG-13 horror, this is G-horror, a horror
movie for kids and people with a serious heart condition.
Don't worry, there will be no excitement or even
remotely scary moments at all (the potentially creepy
scenes are ruined by the fact that the lousy actors
can't prevent themselves from smiling).

Hehe.

Nothing special, some piano music, could've been
composed by anyone really.

Don't let the cover fool you, just like most DTV Thai
horror flicks that get released in Hong Kong (but not
in Thailand for some reason), this is a drama, not a
horror movie - and it's only 48 minutes long. If you
were one of the unlucky ones to buy "A House Of Mad
Souls", I can assure you right away, that this falls
into the exact same category. Avoid.
