A couple of students kill their teacher and his beloved
family... or so they thought. The teacher ends up in a
coma and summons an angry demon to take revenge on his
students. Will any of the students be able to survive
this killing demon?

Hollywood Meat Cleaver Massacre was the title shown on
my DVD, which led me to believe that this was a Texas
Chain Saw Massacre rip-off about a meat cleaver wielding
psychopath offing a group of students. What I got
however was something completely different. This is
in fact a supernatural slasher flick and only one
scene involves a meat cleaver and I would hardly call
this a massacre. This is not just dull, this is so
boring that it might even be fatal. If anyone passed
out when this hit the theatres in the late 70s, I'm
guessing that it was from boredom.
The acting is absolutely abysmal and don't even get me
started on the photography. The entire movie is very
dark and it looks as if the only light sources they
use in this movie were natural ones. The directing is
poor and very basic. I was suspecting that this would
be a bad movie but I had absolutely no idea what I
was in for. I have absolutely nothing good to say about
this movie at all.
The story is very ludicrous. I mean, how can a prank
end up in killing an entire family? And if you actually
buy the ridiculous opening scene, how in hell would a
man in a coma be able to summon a demon, and even more
importantly, how could he possibly know how to summon
one, he's a teacher, not a bloody occultist. When
Christopher Lee shows up before the movie and tells
us a story of demons for four long minutes, you know
something's not right. This is an abysmal supernatural
slasher flick and I highly recommend that you stay
away from this horrid flick.

Not nearly as gory as the title suggests, all we get is
some intestines and some blood splatter.

Pretty basic suspense score. Nothing special.

Here's a movie that sure didn't live up to its title.
If you're expecting a slasher flick with a crazed
psychopath using a meat cleaver to kill his victims,
you're expectations are wrong. This is a very poor
supernatural slasher flick with only one scene
involving a meat cleaver. Pure garbage.
