Seven FBI trainees want to become elite profilers
but in order to do so they have to succeed in their
new mission. They're flown out to a small and
deserted island where they are supposed to find a
serial killer, ofcourse the mission is just a game
to see who handles situations in the best way
possible. But the game quickly changes to fatal
reality when someone takes the game too seriously.
Now the quickly decreasing number of seven people
have to find out who's setting up traps for them
on the island but it's not that easy when they're
the only ones on the island.

The plot doesn't sound too interesting, a serial
killing FBI agents, seriously how entertaining can
it be? Well apparently it can be very entertaining!
This is one of the best recent slashers that I've
seen for quite a while now. It's movies like this
that makes me keep my interest in horrormovies.
Actionthriller? I don't think so, this is nothing
else but a pure slasher. Except for the fact that
instead of having the killer directly killing his
victims, he has set up traps for each victim.
Pretty cool idea.

LL Cool J, Christian Slater, Val Kilmer, Kathryn
Morris. Well I think we've got one thing clear about
this movie; the cast knows what they're doing.
The character build-ups are also very good and
suits the cast very well. Every character get
different properties which help us root for each
one of them. Beside the outstanding performances
that these actors give us, the directing is also
excellent. It's beautiful to look at, that's for
sure. The fake snow or whatever it is flying around
in front of the camera is shot beautifully and
I didn't even care what it was that flew around
in the air. It was simply beautiful.

Being the slasherfan that I am, it's nice to be
able to enjoy a slasher where the killer doesn't
wear a mask and the cast doesn't consist of a bunch
of good looking teens. Not having these two factors,
just proves that the story is stronger than most
modern slashers. It's a shame that this won't reach
USA until 2005 because I really recommend this
movie for anyone. By the way, the first murder is
a total surprise and will have you screaming "What
the...!?" Believe me, if you're a true slasherfan
you will like this movie.

Well I don't think anyone was expecting this. We
get some brutally flayed animals and cats and this
is the light stuff. We also get a guy who breaks
into many pieces (you'll have to see what I mean
for yourself). Someone gets hooks put in his face
a la Hellraiser, there's also a pretty gruesome
arrow impalement scene and a gory severed head
scene. This is one for the gorehounds.

Fast paced, on the edge of club music. It works
but nothing more. Though the action scene towards
the ending has just the right music to set a cool
and actionpacked atmosphere.

This has a little something for everyone. It's a
very clever horrorthriller in the vein of Seven,
but more of a slasher than Seven was. I'm definitely
going to recommend this movie. I didn’t expect it
to be very good but it was! As soon as you get the
chance, check this one out.
