Josh's sister has signed him up for an MTV contest
and naturally he wins. As pissed as he is at his
sister, he has no other choice than to go with
his class to a remote island for partying with
Carmen Electra. Well, when giant insects start
to attack them from above and kidnap Carmen,
Josh decides that the best thing to do is go after
Carmen rather than leaving with the rest of his
class. A bunch of people decide to go with him
but they don't know what they're in for.

MTV brings us back to the 50s sci-fi monster flicks
in this cheesy but hilarious horror comedy. I really
didn't think that I would like this at all! I mean,
come on! It's a TV movie made by MTV. Well, it's
obvious that MTV didn't try to make this a horror
movie, I'm sure they had the money but everything
looks very obviously fake but that's kind of the
whole charm of the movie. Other than that the movie
looks rather good, the quality is good and it looks
as there was some money put into it at least.

Carmen Electra is only in the movie for a couple of
seconds but she still overshadows the rest of the
cast with her talent mixed with a dash of her beautiful
eyes. The rest of the cast is pretty good as well.
Chelan Simmons plays the blonde bimbo part so well
and it's obvious that she was more comfortable in
this movie than in the 2002 TV remake of Carrie.
The directing is nothing special at all, could've
been directed by anyone really but the movie still
looks great so to speak.

If you found yourself enjoying movies like The Lost
Skeleton of Cadavra you will probably enjoy this
as much as I did. I love these parodies of 50's
monster flicks, well with the obvious exception of
Arachnia of course, that one was just terrible. This
flick is really nothing out of the ordinary, it's
a very average flick but you'll still have one hell
of a time watching it! However, I don't know why
anyone would want Nick Carter in a movie? He was
terrible in "The Hollow", at least MTV did a god
job bringing him in first when it was only five
minutes left of the movie though. Pretty entertaining
flick for the horror comedy fan anyway.

Some skeletons, but I guess that doesn't count.
It's an MTV TV movie for crying out loud.

We have a lot of pop and rock music, very hip,
very trendy, works very well. MTV knows what they're
doing in this area.

A lot better than I had expected it to be. Well,
not exactly better, but more entertaining at least.
It's really not a very good flick but it keeps you
entertained and it makes you laugh and that was the
whole purpose of this film and in that it succeeded
very well. Hope to see more films like this from MTV.
