A woman buys a
mirror at an antique shop. She is very
happy with her purchase. So happy that she can't help
but admire herself in the mirror for approximately 10
minutes worth of running time. Anyway, one night she
gets raped by two guys and she decides to stand in front
of the mirror and say that she wants them dead. What
she doesn't know is that the mirror is possessed so
when she wished them dead, she wished for a handful.
Remember the awesome Korean horror movie "Into The
Mirror"? Well someone in Thailand must have liked it
too because this cheesy low budget flick uses almost
the exact same concept. Anyway, to prove to you just
how terrible this movie is I will guide you through
it step by step so this review will be filled with
spoilers, well anyway, here we go.
The movie opens up with a woman walking into an antique
store and quickly grows fond to a mirror. We never
actually see her buy it but before we know it, it's
in her apartment and she stands and admire herself
for approximately 10 minutes, I am not kidding people.
She starts undressing in front of the mirror while
cheesy porno music is playing and she heads into the
shower. Then it's time for the woman to go to bed and
we get to see that there's a ghost in the mirror looking
at her sleeping, veeery creepy.
The next day she gets raped by two mechanics while
walking through a park, she gets home and cries in
the shower. Moments later she starts talking to
herself in front of the mirror, telling herself that
she wants the rapists dead. Well the mirror listens
and the girl in the mirror heads out to find one of
the guys in a strip club where a really terrible Thai
version of the famous techno hit Technorocker is playing
over and over again. So she takes him out to some
weird place where she kills here with her sharp claws?
The next day the woman reads in the newspaper that
one of her rapists has been killed and she tells
herself that it served him right. So the girl in
the mirror heads back to the strip club the next night
and this time a terrible Thai version of Hani's club
classic Baby wants to ride is playing over and over
again. Well anyway, bad techno remixes aside, the
guy forces the girl into his car and takes her to a
junkyard where the girl kills him while laughing
hysterically, seriously.
50 minutes of the movie has passed by now and I've
realized that I'm not in for a very brilliant movie.
Luckily for me it turns out that the back of the cover
lied, the movies is not 85 minutes, in fact, it's
hardly even 70 minutes. From the company that brought
us the awful movie "A House Of Mad Souls", comes this
slightly better movie but still I wish that this
company would start releasing movies worth watching.
Blood splatter and a dismembered head.
We get a lot of cheesy porno music, annoyingly bad
Thai remixes of Techorocker and Baby wants to ride and
a whole bunch of bad background music.
Mortal Reflection is a cheap Thai Into The Mirror
rip-off, with more gore and less story. I guess I
shouldn't complain though seeing as how the last
horror movie the company behind this film released
couldn't even be classified as horror. At least
it had some decent gore in it. Unfortunately, it's
not enough to save this mess from going straight
down the drain. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
