When
a couple try to take suicide together and are rushed into the
hospital with bleeding wrists, three people have to donate blood in order
to save the couple. Unfortunately the woman doesn't survive, leaving the
man alone in a coma. Soon the three blood donators start having weird
visions that involve the deceased girl.

Let me start of by saying that my expectations for this movie were really
low. The box art is quite awful and looks like some cheap Hellraiser rip-off
and it wasn't as hyped as most Asian horrormovies usually are, in fact,
I have never heard anyone say anything about this new horrormovie. I think
that's why I was so positive about this movie when I realised that it was
a really good movie. New Blood is actually just what the title claims it
to be. The story involves new blood, indeed, and also, it's really new
blood for Asian ghost movies. This is brand new material and didn't feel
at all like the other horrormovies that have come from Asia in the last
couple of years. I just hope that the Asian fan audience is open minded
about bringing some originality back into Asian horrormovies.
The directing looks incredibly good and I was surprised to see that it
looks almost as good as the other big Asian horrormovies like Ringu and
Phone. The acting however is not that good for being an Asian horrormovie.
I thought some of the acting was very uninspired and one guy was just
lazy, lying there in a coma, just kidding, the acting was way above my
expectations aswell and I am now going to look for a 5.1 DVD release of
this film, 2.0 just isn't good enough.
What I didn't like about this movie was the ending, which by all means made
sense but you were kind of expecting something like that, it was all just
a bit too cliché. Apart from the ending, this turned out to be a hell of
a film though, scarier than many movies I've seen before, this movie
actually managed to get me hiding behind my pillow, now not many movies
do that to me. If you want to be scared and have shivers sent down your
spine, this is one for you. Oh and please, please Hollywood, no remake
of this movie please, you already wrecked The Ring, don't ruin this aswell.

Some
blood, nothing massive. Ghost story.

There
are many loud noise jumps in this movie so the soundtrack is very
important to make this work. The creepy piano music along with the eerie
Asian influenced music worked perfectly to create the right atmosphere.
There was one scene in particular that I liked where the movie goes mute
for a couple of seconds, I just love that, keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Surprisingly
good and frightening ghost movie despite the terrible box-
art. There are some cheesy scenes, to mention one, there's a scene where
the ghost stands in a bus which looks really silly and not at all scary,
but most of the movie is really scary and well done. I suggest you check
this out the next time you order something from Hong Kong, it's only a
few bucks, and I promise you, you will not be disappointed.
