Carla's father was brutally killed in the forest many
years ago and she believes that he was killed by the
infamous Bigfoot so a couple of students head out
into the forest to see if there's any truth to this
story. Upon arrival they don't know what to believe
but they soon realize that the story about Bigfoot
might not be completely false.

Night Of The Demon is your typical 80s backwoods
slasher flick and much like "The Prey" and "Humongous",
the killer isn't human. So why is this rated as a
slasher? Well first of all, it's got a body count and
second of all, this creature uses axes and things to
murder his victims. Either way, the story is naturally
ludicrous since the killer is supposed to be a
sasquatch and as if that wasn't enough, the story is
built up in such a bad way. I mean, we get more
than five flashback scenes in the movie, though I
guess they did this because they wanted a high
body count in the flick. However, a high body count
doesn't necessarily result in an entertaining flick.

The film is occasionally rather gory (well, at least
if you consider that it was made in the early 80s)
and was immediately put on the video-nastiest list.
Now, is it just me or do almost every single film
on that list suck badly? I've seen very few good
video nastiest and this is definitely not one of
them. The acting is horrid (as expected) and there's
actually one scene where a girl is screaming since
her boyfriend just died and she doesn't look scared
at all, it actually looks more like she's having a
heavenly orgasm.

There are tons of worse 80s slashers out there but
Night Of The Demon is one of those flicks that will
put you right to sleep. The only thing that keeps
you awake is the noisy soundtrack with its ridiculously
high pitched sounds. Many consider this to be one
of the better backwoods slashers out there but
I have to disagree on this one. It's just too
stupid and way too cheesy. I doubt that we will be
seeing this on DVD any time soon.

We get an arm chopped off, a pretty cool impalement,
a gory scene where a guy gets his throat ripped out,
another guy gets an axe in his shoulder.

The high-pitched sounds are annoying as hell but I guess
that's the 80s for you. We naturally also get some
cheesy flute music and some even cheesier piano
music. A terrible soundtrack in other words.

Uneven backwoods slasher about a killer sasquatch
who kill anyone who enters his territory. Very slow
and very uninteresting even if the body count is
pretty high. This is one movie which will put you
right to sleep so you won't have to regret missing
this cheesy slasher flick.
