A young woman is brutally decapitated and the
police draw to the conclusion that they've got
a serial killer on their hands since this is
apparently the second recent female decapitation
in Boston. As female heads are turning up every
here and there, all placed in water, the police
start to believe that there's a connection
between the dead girls. Who is killing off the
beautiful girls at the local night school and why?

Night School is an unoriginal but fairly competent
80s slasher flick about a motor cycle driving
serial killer in a full MC-outfit who's chopping
the heads off of the young women at a night school.
The idea of having a serial killer in an MC-helmet
was copied numerous times in later 80s slasher
movies for some reason even though the outfit
really isn't very intimidating at all.
This was the big movie debut for Rachel Ward who
only two years later stared in another slasher
movie - The Final Terror. You can tell that she's
a rookie here though as she doesn't give us a
very good performance. In fact, the acting is
overall average at best. The directing is also
very average but at least it's always easy to see
what's going on in this movie which is not too
common in 80 slasher flicks.
While it was obvious who the killer was all along,
it was at least nice to see that they gave the
killer a decent motive - even if a bit sexistic.
In the end I was actually rather pleased with
what I had just seen. It might be a very
forgettable slasher but at least it's a fun
ride while it's going. Check this one out if
you catch it on TV because it's a lot better
than one would expect.

A bunch of decapitated heads.

Nothing special here, it seemed as if they never
even tried to create a creepy atmosphere for this,
which is a good thing because a slasher like this
shouldn't try to be creepy, it should just be
what it is if you know what I mean.

Night School is pretty entertaining while you
watch it but as soon as it's over you will have
forgotten all about it. It's definitely nothing
special but I'd still recommend it to die-hard
slasher fans as it's a fun ride.
