It's Matthews 30th birthday and he's decided to meet
a guy who he met through some personal ad. Well, the
night goes by and Matthew and his new boy toy David
hit it off but soon something happens. There's someone
else in the apartment... and that someone is not
very friendly, nor very living.

Nightshadows is the first gay horror movie that I get
to see and even if it's only 16 minutes long, it's
still pretty creepy. The story is pretty simple, guy
meets guy which ends in the bed, zombie appears in
apartment. At first it was kind of embarrassing to
watch the movie as it felt like watching gay pornography
but it doesn't take long until the horror movie kicks
in and it sure kicks in with a jump. I must've jumped
at least three times when watching this flick and it's
only a short movie so that's pretty good.
The guy playing Matthew looks really good and I can't
say that the guy playing David does which led me to
wonder why Matthew would go after David in the first
place, guess he must've looked better in the ad huh.
Anyway, on a less shallow notice, the acting is pretty
average, nothing that couldn't have been done better.
I was pretty pleased with the performance we got from
Jerry G. Angelo (Matthew) but Brent Gorski (David)
should just not have been involved with this movie at
all as not only is he far from as good looking as Matthew,
but he's also a terrible actor.
The directing on the other hand is very clever. The
director has actually used all the normal horror clichés
and turned them into something else which was really
good since you didn't see things coming. Even if the
movie has some flaws, it comes out pretty good, I just
wish that it would've been longer. Looking forward to
seeing more homosexual horror movies in the future,
I know "Make A Wish" is out now which is a lesbian
slasher flick and "Hellbent" is coming up so let's see
if this can become a popular genre.

A couple of slit throats and some really cool looking
zombies. Excellent make-up!

We get some cheesy background music but the sound effects
are enough to keep one satisfied. It served its purpose.

While this is a pretty good short zombie feature, I can't
say that I'm not disappointed. I've been looking forward
to seeing a gay horror movie and this just wasn't as good
as I had hoped, it lacked in chemistry between the two
characters and also they just don't seem to match. Even
if many 30 year old gay guys might like the thought of
being with an 18 year old guy, I just don't see the
attraction that Matthew is supposed to have towards David.
