When Billy was only three years old his parents died
in a tragic car accident. Now, 14 years later, he
lives with his aunt and life is going really well,
until one day when Billy comes home from school,
just in time to witness his aunt killing a man with
a knife. Since he refuses to believe what he saw,
he soon becomes a suspect by the police.

Well this
movie sure brought up a whole lot of feelings.
Night Warning is not only a mildly entertaining slasher
flick, it also makes you angry, frustrated and sad which
not many horror flicks tend to do. I don't know if this
was a good thing though but the homophobia in the movie
got me so damn angry that I wanted to trash the TV. If
this homophobic cop in the movie would've been a real
person I would have tracked him down and killed him
myself, that's how angry I get when a minority gets
to take the crap from the society and Night Warning
shows to us how far we have come since the early 80s.
Another very upsetting aspect of the movie is that the
crazy woman who's looking after Billy feels very real
and reminds us of the fact that there are actually
lonely and disturbed people out there who would do just
about anything for some company. I'll try to get past
my emotions now though so that you'll get to know more
about the flick.
The movie is very slow during the first hour or so and
doesn't really show a whole lot of promise at first
sight. When the movie really gets going we realize that
all these emotions would be impossible to awake if we
hadn't seen the long back-story though so just because
it starts out pretty slow, that's no reason to shut
this one off as the climax makes up to it.
I don't really get why this movie has become infamous
and been put on the video nasty list however since the
movie really isn't that gory. There are some disturbing
factors in the movie but it has got nothing to do with
the gore. I highly recommend this movie even if it's
not a great one because this has some very good messages
hidden in it and for all it's worth, it's also a pretty
damn good slasher flick.

We get a head bashed in by a log (can anyone say Final
Destination 2?), a hand chopped off, a spear impalement
and some more minor gore.

The music is played very silently throughout the movie
but works brilliantly. The score is basically just some
piano music but it sets the right atmosphere.

Frustrating, emotional and mildly entertaining slasher
flick which might not be for everyone. I highly
recommend this for homophobes because it carries a
very important message in it and over-all I will have
to recommend this to everyone because it is definitely
one of its kind.
