The conflicts between a mother and her daughter
grow deadly when the daughter decides to run
away with a couple of teens that she just met.
What she doesn't know is that she just joined a
gang of modern vampires. As the mother decides
to do her own little investigation, she finds out
that her daughter is in even grater danger than
she had thought in the first place and it's now
up to her alone to save her.

This movie had a theatrical release in the UK
but due to lack of promotion, it flopped and
didn't even make it onto the top 15 box office
chart. Only a couple of days after its release,
negative reviews started popping up just about
everywhere. This led me to think that this was
not something that I would want to watch. But
like many times before, I decided to watch it
despite its negative feedback, mainly because
it had quite a high budget.
To my surprise I found myself enjoying this
flick quite a lot. After 30 minutes into the
movie I was just waiting for it to get worse but
it didn't. It managed to keep the suspense through
the entire movie and despite a couple of plot
holes here and there I still thought that it was
a pretty solid and original story. I know that
many might argue with me on this but that's what
I felt when watching this movie.
There are quite a few familiar faces here and
the entire cast manages to play their parts
pretty well... except for some dialogues that
felt a bit forced. Marcus Adams, the director
of Octane is also responsible for the British
horror thriller Long Time Dead which I really
disliked so I wasn't expecting the directing
to be anything special. It lived up to my
expectations, it does look good and all but
considering the budget I actually think that
it could've been handled better. This looked
pretty much like a DTV horrormovie.

When will they realise that people don't want
bloodsplatter. Bloodsplatter is just unnecessary.
There was nothing but bloodsplatter here as you
might have understood and that was as usual a
sad disappointment.

This is where it really wins. We get hip-hop
music, dance music and a dash of 70's music.
It all blended together nicely with the cool
and atmospheric background music composed by
an old favourite band Orbital.

This is probably one of those hate it or love
it movies. I really liked it and I thought that
the suspense was high through the entire movie.
The characters could've used a little work but
all in all they were pretty good. Don't listen
to me on this one, decide for yourself whether
you like it or not.
