Dorine Douglas works for a small magazine. She's very
tense and nervy so she has a hard time getting respected
by her co-workers. When one day, the company downsizes
and she has to work part-time from home, she decides
to change the situation and kill everyone who's giving
her a hard time.

A couple of years ago I caught this slasher flick on
cable-TV and thought it was pretty good and surprisingly
enough, I still think that this is a pretty good flick.
By all means, Office Killer doesn't follow the standard
slasher formula, instead it focuses on the villain,
which I normally don't like too much, in Office Killer
however this really works. Dorine Douglas is a very
strange woman and there are lots of crazy cat ladies
out there so why wouldn't one of them be a serial killer?
It all makes sense to me.

Office Killer is a horror comedy which failed to make
a couple of cheap bucks after the success of Scream
since many people would hardly even classify this as
a slasher flick (people who have no clue what a slasher
flick really is). The black humour in the movie is a
quite nice touch but hardly gives us any big laughs.
There are a couple of scenes which are mildly amusing
but I'd have to say, in its entirety, Office Killer
fails as a comedy, and only succeeds in being a decent
slasher thriller.

The acting is pretty good and in my opinion this is
Molly Ringwalds best performance ever. I didn't care
much for her in the Aussie slasher pic "Cut" but she
nails it in this one. The woman playing Dorine is
also excellent for the part and really does fit the
crazy old cat lady description in every detail. The
movie looks slick with nice photography and good
directing but it does feel like a DTV flick since it
looks rather low-budget. That doesn't ruin the movie
though, instead, I would have to say that the
low-budget look is pretty good for this movie and
gives it a nice sense of realism.

This might not be your average slasher pic with a
masked killer stalking hot teens in bikinis but if
you love slashers, this will definitely entertain.
It's weird, it's original and it's silly enough to
keep you from turning it off.

We get a cut throat, some severed hands, a gory
stomach and some more nasty stuff.

I love the slick violin music in this one along with the
cheeky accordion and cello music. It all blends together
very well and reminds one of the soundtrack in "American
Psycho 2". This is an A+ in my records.

Office Killer is not your by-the-books slasher flick,
instead it dares to head down a different path which
entertains us just as much. Not your average teen
flick so if you want to see something odd but still
gory and entertaining, give this one a shot.
