Riley is an all-American teenage girl who's just been
kidnapped by a man called Otis. He's a 40-year old man
who never got his perfect prom and he figures that
he's waited long enough - and Riley, or Kim as he likes
to call her, is the perfect girl for him - whether
she likes it or not. Meanwhile, Riley's family is
worried sick and the detective is doing more damage
than good. Will Riley be able to survive this nightmare
or will Otis end her life just like he ended the lives
of 5 other teenage girls?

Raw Feed's back and this time they've truly outdone
themselves. After the dreadfully boring "Sublime" which
was anything but, here comes Otis, a top-notch horror
comedy with both wits and gore. Not only that but it's
also refreshingly original and surprisingly clever.
Sure it's not without its flaws but for once I thought
I'd focus mainly on the good stuff since it feels like
I sit here writing bad reviews all day long. So let's
cut right to the story shall we?

Otis opens with a blonde girl trapped inside a basement
with Otis watching over her through cameras. Apparently
she's been there for six weeks all ready and we later
find out that this is his fifth victim. While trying
to escape she ends up getting electrocuted, just as
Otis was about to take her to prom. See, Otis brother
is married to the woman that he's always loved, Kim.
Enter Riley, a blonde teenage girl who's got her whole
life ahead of her. It doesn't take long before Otis
steals that away from her though as he captures her
and throws her into his basement. Luckily for Riley,
she understands what Otis is trying to achieve quite
quickly and plays along. The question is; how long
can she keep the game going?

This truly is a love-story for the twisted mind. Otis
isn't just some random villain, we actually connect
with him and understand why he's so messed up. Riley
isn't some normal victim, this girl knows how to
play the game and how to survive. These two are just
an amazing on-screen couple and there are even times
when you wonder if perhaps Riley will fall for Otis
in the end. At the same time we have the hilarious
family who are anything but an ordinary family. These
folks keep it real and react in a realistic way...
well, for most of the time anyway. It gets a little
out of hand towards the ending but still, you can't
help but to love this flick.

Otis really is a genius horror flick and director
Tony Krantz has really redeemed himself after his
debut feature film "Sublime". All is forgiven. This
is a terrific horror film and possibly the best DTV
horror film of the year so I strongly recommend that
you check this one out. All of a sudden I'm really
looking forward to checking Rest Stop 2 out, hopefully
Raw Feed's titles will continue along the lines of
Otis in the future. If so, we have a couple of great
horror flicks ahead of us people.

A lot of blood and suggested gore but nothing really
remarkable. An unrated edition wasn't necessary in my
opinion but I guess one scene was fairly gruesome.

Clever score with everything from country music to
"Don’t Fear the Reaper". Brilliant stuff.

An outstanding horror comedy which serves both gore
and laughs. It's got a great pace through and through
and a refreshingly original story. The best title to
come out of the Raw Feed library so far and I can't
wait to see what's up next. Don't miss this one.
