Twenty years ago, a killer terrorized the small
community of Devils Lake. Now, he's back to finish
off what he once started. Will anyone be able
to kill this Michael Myers looking killer? Well
it will take two hours before we find out because
that's how long this movie is.

Moustapha Akkad would be turning in his grave if
he knew about this movie. The Path Of Evil is the
sequel to a slasher flick called "Harvest of Fear"
and now, I haven't seen that movie (nor have I
any interest in doing so after watching this flick)
but in this sequel, the killer looks identical to
Michael Myers, only that it looks like someone
threw up all over Michael's mask. There's even a
scene where the harvest killer, as he is called,
chases a girl down the stairs and I'm telling you,
that scene is taken straight out of Halloween.

So one would assume that a Halloween rip-off should
be pretty entertaining. Well it's not, because
this is hardly even a horror flick for most of
the time. The Path Of Evil doesn't play like a
normal slasher movie, instead it's a very dull
crime drama about a cop who's trying to get his
life back together. It's obvious to me that the
people behind this movie don't like slasher flicks
because there is no heart in it at all, even
movies like Camp Blood and Bloody Murder had
hearts in them but this one is just an insult to
other slasher movies.

I wonder why they decided to release the sequel
before the first one because no one who knows
that these two are connected will see both of
them - unless they're a reviewer like me and have
to watch any crap thrown their way. I'm disappointed
in MTI Video for releasing this as they're
usually pretty good at choosing their horror
movies. If you liked The Rockville Slayer, you
might like this as well but to me this was not
entertaining in any way.

We get a slit throat, a hand off and some more
minor gore, not very slasher like if you ask me.

Nothing special here, very average low budget score.

The Path Of Evil is very much like the recently
released abysmal movie "The Rockville Slayer" in
the sense that it doesn't know whether it wants
to be a slasher or a crime drama. If you have any
respect for slasher movies at all, don't see this
as it is an insult to slasher fans.
