Hysteria breaks
loose on a plane headed for Paris when
a zombie escapes from its containment box. See,
a couple of scientists have come up with a drug that
will cure all illness in the world, there's only one
catch, if you die after you've taken the drug, you'll
become a zombie. And that's just what happened to
the zombie in the box. Err, where was I going with
this? Oh right, so a zombie outbreak on a plane.

Believe it or not, but I'm one of the few people who'd
actually heard of this movie before Snakes On A Plane
was released, this isn't a shameless rip-off as some
might believe, it was developed long before Snakes and
while it's not quite as entertaining as Snakes was,
it's still a surprisingly innovative zombie movie.
As many of you probably know by now, I'm quite sick
of the zombie genre right now, I think that we've
simply seen too many generic zombie flicks recently
which of most were really low budget so I was really
pleased to find myself enjoying Plane Dead.
Plane Dead has just as little of a plot as Snakes On
A Plane Had - and the premises are extremely similar.
A zombie is being transported in the cargo to Paris
from the US, but naturally something goes wrong and
the plane is soon exposed to a zombie outbreak. This
movie doesn't waste any time building up characters
or creating heavy plot twists, it just wants to
amuse you, and that it does. From the moment that the
zombie outbreak starts to the ending, there's not a
moment of boredom. This is an incredibly fast-paced,
gore-filled movie - even if a bit cheesy, and I loved
it for that, but it also has a couple of negatives
going against it.
First of all there's the heavily flawed script. It's
not that it's a bad story, it's just that there are
so many goofs that it's not even funny. To name a few,
you can't go surfing in Paris - it's not by the sea,
you can't carry on golf clubs on the plane - they can
be used as a weapon, there's no way you'd see lighting
strike around the plane - you fly above the clouds,
not in them. We also have the fact that the weather
changes from horrible to great within two minutes
and a bunch of other stuff, but it wasn't too hard
overlooking this movie's flaws as it was entertaining
enough to make you forget about them.
Ultimately I was extremely pleased with this low budget
zombie flick. It's got surprisingly good CGI-effects
(for a low-budget movie of course), a solid cast, an
extremely entertaining and fast-paced plot, buckets
of blood and a bunch of ravenous zombies - what else
can you ask for? Sure, it's not as great as Snakes on
A Plane and you can't help but to compare it to that,
but the fact is, Snakes On A Plane had much better
production values and therefore I think this one should
come out on top as they were first with the concept.
Don't miss this one!

I've been told that I'm not specific enough in my
gore descriptions, but that's only because I don't
want to ruin the movie experience for you guys, I don't
want to tell you everything so always take this section
with a pinch of salt. In Plane Dead however we get
neck biting, buckets of blood, legs bit off,
a decapitation, an awesome impalement and more!

Solid suspense score but nothing out of the ordinary.

Outrageous and extremely entertaining zombie flick with
a bite. I enjoyed every second of it. This is not a
Snakes On a Plane rip-off as you might suspect as this
one was actually first, so give this one a try because
I can't see how this could fail to amuse you - especially
if you're a zombie fan. So give it a shot.
