It's hell week and a couple of pledges are doing
just about anything to join a certain fratority
(I can't remember the name of it). Soon, Dan, a
frat brother, goes crazy and starts to kill
everyone in the dorm. What has gotten over Dan?
Could it be an angry spirit from the past that
has come back to get revenge?

This could have been so much better than it was.
Pledge Night is a pretty poor zombie slasher
which starts out very promising with a couple of
teenage boys who are trying to join a fraternity.
Naturally they have to go through all kinds of
disgusting and degrading things first though and
as if that wasn't enough, one of the fraternity
brothers goes crazy and starts killing everyone.
So far so good right? Well as soon as it turns
out that the killer is in fact a demon of a
young boy who died in that same frat house several
years ago, the movie looses a whole lot of points.

Pledge Night reeks of potential though. There
aren't many fraternity slashers out there and
since it takes so long before the killing begins
in this one you really get a chance to root for
all the characters. It actually doesn't get
cheesy and uninteresting until the killing begins
so there is a good movie hidden somewhere in here.
Sadly, this movie took all of its potential and
shredded it into pieces.

The actors are all obviously inexperienced but
they do a pretty decent job. Some dialogues are
a bit corny but so are a couple of the death
scenes so I couldn't be bothered focusing a lot
on that. I really wanted to like this slasher
flick but in the end, I just didn't. Full of
potential which it didn't live up to.

We get some decent gore in this one including
impalements, open stomachs, an axe in ones chest
and more. Pretty cheap effects though.

I didn't mind the rock score. It actually felt
relatively modern. I didn't love it either though.

Pledge Night had everything going for it until
the killing started. The killer is ridiculous
and wouldn't even be able to scare a kid. This
one definitely didn't live up to its potential
so this one I can't recommend.
