A family is on
their way in their car when the
husband has to stop to send an email through a
coin telephone by the road. While waiting he
finds an old newspaper clip where it says that
his daughter has died. His wife comes to the
telephone to ask him to help their daughter
release her seatbelt as it's stuck but moments
later their car is hit by a bypassing truck.
This leads them to investigate more about the
mysterious newspaper clippings.

This is the second movie in the new J-Horror
series, from the director of Ringu 0. Since I'm
not a big fan of Ringu 0 I wasn't expecting
this to be very good. At first sight it seemed
like a Final Destination rip-off but soon I
realized that I was dead wrong. Premonition is
a very original horror flick which brings us back
to when Japanese horror movies weren't all
about the scares but more about the mystery.
Premonition contains the mystery that surrounded
classics like Ringu and Kairo and I was just
thrilled to see this as I had started to lose
faith in both Japanese horror flicks and the
company Lions Gate, who bought this flick.
The directing is superb and everything feels
very professional. The acting is top notch
and the photography also looks very slick.
Maybe I'm more optimistic than I should be
but after a week of dreadful horror flicks
I definitely needed for something like this
to come along. And the best part is, I have
the first movie in the J-horror series left
to see so I can't wait to check that one
out. Anyway, back to the story. The plot is
very complex and would be hard to understand
without subtitles as there is a lot of
dialogue and a few surprising twists. I can
honestly say that I didn't see the end twist
coming and I usually do.
I'm really just too wound up right now I think,
half of the things I'm saying probably just
don't make any sense at all but you didn't
really need to read my review since all you
really need to know is that this is a must
have for anyone who liked any Asian horror
flick ever. It really has it all, the scares
from Ju-On, the mystery from Ringu and the
surprising twists from A Tale Of Two Sisters.
That doesn't make it a rip-off however, it's
actually one of the most original movies, if
not the most original, I've seen this year
and I don't think any other flick will be
able to top this one in originality this year.

A girls face is missing which looks pretty
cool but other than that it's not very gory.

Basically just a lot of bass and loud noises
but works perfectly.

This is it Asian horror fans! This is what
we've all been waiting for. It's mysterious,
it's scary, it's entertaining, it's
surprising and best of all it's original.
You have got to see this one, do not miss
this one! It's simply excellent!
