Florence is desperate to learn surfing so she starts
practicing with the local surfer boys. She becomes
better and better but while she's practicing, her
friends are turning up dead around her. It appears
that someone is killing the teens in the town that
have something that makes them different. Some
shallow flaw. Now it's up to two female detectives
to find out who the killer is.
My all time favourite horror comedy without a doubt.
I've seen this over five times now and I can assure
you that this is a movie that I will never get sick
of watching. This movie seems to be widely unpopular
but I have no idea why. It's not meant to be taken
seriously. It's just a light minded movie about a
girl with split personalities and a serial killer
who's roaming around killing people who aren't
"perfect". For being a comedy, it doesn't really
deliver a lot of laughs, it's just made to put
you in a good mood.
Robert Lee King has really managed to create a
good 60's feeling in the movie. I didn't notice
a single flaw about the directing, it's just
perfect, so this movie does not have to be
brutally murdered I suppose. The acting is also
pretty damn excellent. Lauren Ambrose plays
a schizophrenic pretty well and there are
really no weak points in the cast either.
After recently having watched movies like Club
Dread & Bubba Ho-tep it was obvious for me that
I had to watch Psycho Beach Party again, just
to make sure that I could still enjoy a good
horrorcomedy. This is still as good as the first
time that I saw it and if you haven't checked
it out yet, you just have to. It's a great film
that's got exactly everything you need in a
good horrorcomedy.
One gets a slit throat, one gets the head
dismembered and a severed hand is found in the
sand, quite okay gore.
60's music with a luau and everything, someone
has done their homework. Really serves the movie
well. Well done.
The best horrorcomedy ever in my opinion. This
might not be for everybody but if you're into
movies that make you happy without having you
laugh your brains out, I have to recommend this
movie for it makes me happy and I think it
might just put you in a good mood aswell.
