A filmcrew sets out to the woods to shoot a remake
of the cult slasher flick "Slaughterhouse Camp 13".
Unfortunately for them, someone has grown sick of
all the horror remakes as of recently and has
decided that this is one movie that is not going
to be remade. Who is this mysterious killer and
will they manage to finish the remake before they've
all dropped dead?

After just having seen "2 SICK", I was a bit
skeptical heading into this film made by the
same team. Fortunately for me, this didn't turn
out to be even remotely as bad as "2 SICK" aka
"Mr Jingles" was. The Remake is a relatively
well-crafted slasher flick which says something
that we've all been thinking - no more fucking
remakes. This slasher flick isn't original in
any possible way, nor is it trying to be - it
simply ridicules horror remakes in a quite clever
way by being a complete Friday the 13th rip-off.

The story is one that we've seen hundreds of times
before - film team set out to shoot a movie, crew
gets killed off one after the other. As I said,
it's nothing new here but what I did notice was
the fact that the directing and cinematography
in this movie was much better than in "2 SICK",
even though it's made by the same people. Perhaps
they had better equipment this time, either way
it was far more pleasurable for the eye to look
at this. The acting is also a whole lot better
and it was nice to see that the best actress from
"2 SICK" got a small part in this as well.

Now, I'm having real problems reviewing this
movie since there really isn't a whole lot to
review. It's got a very basic premise and it
doesn't break any new grounds. But overall, I'd
still have to say that this is a worthy watch,
if not for the story but for the fact that someone
actually bothered making a movie like this.
Perhaps the Hollywood producers couldn't care less
but at least someone put the time and the effort
into trying to make a difference and for that alone,
I think this is a movie worth checking out.

We get a slit throat, a pipe through ones stomach,
a machete in the face, a decapitation and some
minor blood splatter.

I have to be honest with you. The piano clinking
annoyed the hell out of me. The rock music was
fairly incompetent and I didn't really appreciate
the fact that they had used the cha-cha sounds
from Friday the 13th. Should've been better.

The Remake is a hard movie to review since there's
not really a whole lot of movie in here. It's got
a very basic premise and everything is just very
average DTV slasher film about this. But what makes
this worth watching is the fact that it takes a
stand against horror remakes and I am very
appreciative with that someone took the time to
make a movie like this.
