Suspiciously
many people are taking suicides at Sunshine Resorts.
A journalist gets involved with the case and soon finds out
that everything isn't right. After a while a killer shows up,
killing everyone who decides to stay at the resort.

Resort Massacre is one of those movies who doesn't know what
it wants to be. I mean, it starts out to look like a thriller,
then it gets cheesy and almost seem as if it wants to be a comedy,
but after an hour the crew behind this movie must've changed
their minds completely and decided to bring a killer wearing the
exact same ghost face mask as the one used in Scream (1996).
Some of the acting is good, but most of it is really very bad,
the only one doing a really good job is the girl that plays
the journalist. The directing is not impressive at all and
even if it looks good, it doesn't use anything very creative
to keep us interested, not even some cheap scares or effects,
come on, we need something to grab onto here!
Disappointing movie indeed. Scream and Japanese mystery thrillers
just doesn't mix, I guess I should have seen this coming though
as I had already read that this was very bad in reviews before
I saw this. I just thought that the reviewer had misunderstood
the movie when the first scene where the Scream mask gets used
was a joke, but then, the killer decided to use it, ugh, now why
would they want to do this? It might even have been descent if
they just removed that pathetic scream mask.

This
was only rated IIB in Hong Kong, and I should've understood
by that, that this wasn't going to have any gore in it, but as
the opening scene was fairly bloody, I just got my hopes up a
bit too early. All we get are some very ungory knife stabbings
and a totally fake barbecue stick through the neck.

Well....
this was weird. I think I'll stop there, it wasn't good
or bad... just... well... weird.

This
movie was not very thought out at all, if it would have
stayed with the original plot, it might have been quite good
actually, but they had to bring that annoying blind guy into
the movie, not to mention the ugly scream mask! My advice would
be... stay away... why did I give it one star then? Well, I
was never bored to the bones and even if the Scream mask is
awful, at least it had some cool scenes.
