Okay, let me try to explain what little plot
there is for you to explain here. Gina Philips
plays Karin whose grandmother just passed away.
She goes to her grandparents summerhouse to
fix it up in order to be able to sell it. She's
not alone though, the friendly groundskeeper
is still there and she soon gets a visit from
her sister Wendy. But not everything is as it
seems, soon enough Karin starts suffering from
terrible nightmares. Could they be real?

Gina Philips insists on visiting old, creepy
houses where strange things are happening.
This time, it's a little less creepy and a
little more clichéd however. Ring Around The
Rosie isn't a horror movie, which one might
expect from the creepy cover-art, instead it's
one of those ridiculously confusing thrillers
where you never know if it's a dream or reality
and in the end you just don't care anymore.

There is very little story here to follow and
in a pathetic attempt to keep the viewer
interested we are fed with bunches of fake
scares - that fail miserably to scare. In fact,
if it wasn't for the suspenseful soundtrack,
I could never have guessed that this was even
a thriller until perhaps the last ten minutes.
Speaking of the last ten minutes, when it was
time for this movie to shine and wrap it all
up we got a ridiculous clichéd twist which pretty
much made the rest of the movie unnecessary.
In other words, skip to the last frame and you
know the entire story - without having to miss
out on anything.

To be fair however, the acting is pretty good
even if Gina Philips is usually much better
than this. The budget looks like it was quite
high as well and we all know that Sony Pictures
only release high-quality DTV horror films. If
you're expecting this to be a pure horror film
however, you are wrong. This is a confusing
drama-thriller with the most ridiculously clichéd
twist ever and I highly advice you to stay away
from this awful chick flick.

Nah, nothing worth mentioning. PG-13.

Sure, the soundtrack sounds brilliant with its
slick strings and violins but not even a great
soundtrack could save this movie.

A movie which doesn't live up to its artwork,
which might not be that rare these days. Ring
Around The Rosie is not a horror movie, nor is
it about ghosts as some people might expect.
Instead, it's a confusing drama thriller which
you will have forgotten all about before it's
even over. Don't bother.
