A prisoner
escapes while being transferred but gets a
vicious robot Rottweiler after him. On his escape through
the desert he meets many different kinds of people who
will soon all end up victims of the killer robodog.

So yeah, Rottweiler was basically Terminator meets Cujo
with less suspense and less story. The movie opens up
with a promising first ten minutes but after that the
movie goes downhill quickly as it gets slower and slower
and duller and duller. The plot is basically just about
a prisoner who's running from a mad killer robot dog
and you just can't make a two hour long movie with a
plot as weak as that.
Fantastic Factory used to release all these awesome
horror flicks but lately they've lost their edge. The
last movie I saw from them was Hypnosis and that was
just as slow and as dull as this. The stories aren't
complex enough and you can see the plot twists from
a mile's distance. I know many people will be
disappointed by this review since it's been anticipated
by every single horror site online, even I had big
expectations for this horror flick so it really was
a very big let down.
Brian Yuzna fails to impress with his sloppy directing
in this flick. It almost feels as if he just wanted to
get it over and done with since there is absolutely
no soul behind the camerawork, no exciting angles, no
nothing. The movie has no soul at all in any way. The
acting is bad, the little dialogue we get is nonsense
and the story is thinner than Paris Hilton on a diet.
Rottweiler is the kind of flick that you want to
watch in fast forward, only to press play every now
and then to see the gore scenes, which by the way are
far from spectacular. I can't believe Fantastic
Factory is behind this dumb movie, and my final
rating is very questionable. Maybe I'm being a bit
too nice with this one. Either way, I did not like
this flick very much, it's simply too slow and too
uninteresting to last for two hours.

We get a severed head, a severed hand, some blood
splatter, a lot of neck biting and some more, nothing
very special.

They've used a lot of different drums and percussions
in order to try to create a suspenseful atmosphere.
Sadly, they fail miserably.

A huge disappointment. I was expecting a good and
exciting Cujo rip-off but this was anything BUT good
and exciting, in fact, exciting to Rottweiler is like
black to white. If you're still set on watching this,
set your expectations low and get ready to drink a
lot of coffee!
