A masked killer is killing off the girls at a university with a
big axe, now it's up to a young journalist to find out who the
killer is, and how can she stop him? It doesn't make it any easier
when the BDB University decide that they should have a horror theme
on this years rush week...

Let me start off by saying that this movie was way cool. I've seen
a lot of sucky slashers in my days and I'm happy to say that this
is not one of them. The plot is simple, yes, but the mask is great,
and you can never go wrong with an medieval axe as a murder weapon
now can you? It's funny how easy it was to predict how the killer
was though, I like a bit of a challange. Another thing that I didn't
like about the movie was the fact that there wasn't a high body-
count, and when someone eventually did get killed, it would be off-
screen, very bad!

Rush Week somewhat reminded me off Urban Legend, don't ask me why,
cause I have no idea myself. It was very hip and it wasn't totally
80's so it looked as if it could have been made like somewhere in
the Scream wave. You know how Michael Myers, Jason and just about
every other masked killer follows his victims slowly, and you
always think to yourself 'She's running, he's walking, how can he
possibly catch up with her' and he always somehow manages to catch
up with his victim... Well, that's what I loved about this movie,
our killer always runs! How original isn't that for a slasher, no
more lazy-ass killers plz, if you are strong enough to kill someone,
at least you should be able to do some skipping after your victims!
Oh and I almost forgot, there are a lot of nudity, most breasts,
in this movie for the guys ;).

The acting and directing are both very average, but you can't
really ask a lot from those appartments in a slasher. How hard is
it really to run and scream? I have to say the directing was somehow
sloppy at times though, like wierd transcisons and music not echoing
from the scene before to the upcoming scene, like it should, instead
just quits and becomes silent in one second. Well, anyway, I really
enjoyed this movie and can only say that if this would've had less
bore at more gore, this would've been a strong full 5er!

I saw an old swedish video release of this so I'm not sure that it
was totally uncut, but according to the swedish censorship it should
be. Anyway, most off the killings were offscreen, we do get an axe
in the stomach, some blood running out of ones mouth, a corpse of
an old man and a dismembered head.

Did you ever think it was possible to have such a total mix of music
in a horror movie, and especially, in an 80's horrormovie!? Well, it
is! We get some halloween style music with piano clinking and a dark
layer. Some bongo drums thrown in for god knows why, and since we
already used the slasher style music, why not the dracula kind and
play some organ aswell? Oh and it's the 80's, we can not forget the
pop music that is played on all the parties! I was totally satisfied
with this soundtrack, it's nice to have some mixture.

Totally enjoyable slasherflick, I absolutely recommend this to every
die hard slasherfan. If you're not into slashers this would probably
feel quite unoriginal and usual to you, not very gory or scary either
for that matter, but still, totally enjoyable.
