Four prisoners escape while being transferred,
taking two cops and a prison doctor hostage. They
head for a small town called Salina and it seems
as if their escape plan is flawless. What they
didn't expect was to get welcomed by a bunch of
flesh eating aliens. Will anyone be able to get
out of this alive or are they all alien food?

Salena Incident, or as it is called on my DVD
sleeve, Alien Begins (haha), is yet another
unnecessary low budget creature feature as you
might have all ready figured out. However, this
one actually surprised me. Salena Incident is
anything but a good movie and the concept has
been done to death, still, I can honestly say
that I was not bored for one second of this
cheesy Alien rip-off.

The movie revolves around four inmates, three
cops, and two blonde chicks who are getting it
on with the escaped convicts. Anyway, evil aliens
show up and start eating them one by one and
when they don't eat them, they take over their
bodies for some unexplained reason. I mean, when
the aliens take over someone’s body, the eyes of
that someone go completely black so it's not a
very good way of coming closer to their victims.
It just never really made sense to me but I guess
it was cheaper to do it that way (even though the
real aliens look anything but real, still I will
give them some credit for not using CG-effects to
do the aliens).

This movie still hasn't been released in the US
and I'm betting my money on that this will be a
straight to TV movie, probably for the Sci-Fi
channel so when it comes on TV, you might actually
want to check it out because despite my low score,
I actually had some fun watching this. It's a
terrible movie in every way with terrible acting
and terrible directing along with a terrible
script filled with plot holes, but this is still
pretty entertaining. If you don't get what I mean,
watch Camp Blood, that's a similar experience to
watching this one if you look at it from an
entertainment value perspective.

Cheap gore effects include a severed hand and a
body slashed in half (not as gory as it may sound).

I read two reviews on IMDB commenting on the
awesome soundtrack but to me this wasn't anything
special. Very average creature feature score.

Salena Incident is a terrible movie in every
possible way but it sure as hell is entertaining.
If you enjoy watching the occasional cheesy
creature feature, I suggest you check this out
when it hits TV but be sure not to spend any
money on renting or buying it, it surely isn't
good enough for that.
