A group of people find themselves trapped inside
a house with a deadly gas spreading through the
ventilation system. They only have 2 hours to find
the antidote, if they fail, they all die. Will
anyone survive Jigsaw's game this time or will
everyone become a loser?

It seems as if everyone is loving the hell out of
this movie, some people even say that it's better
than its awesome predecessor, well I have to
argue with this. While Saw was original, unpredictable,
entertaining and disturbing, Saw 2 is the complete
opposite. The story has been done many times before,
and it basically feels like a darker version of
"House Of 9" (which still turned out to be better
than this one). The movie is completely predictable
with a couple of stupid twists towards the ending
that failed to surprise me. It is, arguably, mildly
entertaining however but the movie tries so hard to
be more disturbing and gut wrenching than the first
one that it just feels a bit pathetic (you can
almost say that this pulled a Murder-Set-Pieces).
Saw 2 might have had a higher budget than the first
one but I still don't think that it looks better.
The photography is pretty dull and the rawness that
the first one had is completely gone. All of a
sudden we're stuck with an action thriller mixed
with a teen slasher flick instead of a very sharp
horror thriller. The directing is very average and
not even remotely as impressive as James Wan's
directing was.
Shawnie Smith returns in this movie as Amanda, the
drug abuser who survived the Jigsaw game once. She
does do a great job but we really don't root for her
as much as we did in the first movie. In fact, there
really isn't anyone that we really root for, just
because the movie just isn't very good. What's even
worse is that the movie has been a huge hit at the
box-office which green lit Saw 3. Ugh! I don't really
recommend this movie actually, the first movie was
awesome but this was very average and didn't live up
to the first movie at all.

Oh yes! There will be blood - but not a whole lot of
actual gore. We get a spiked bat in ones head and
a slit throat but that's just about as messy as
this gets, the rest is all really just a bunch of
blood splatter which doesn't impress all that much.

Pretty much the same stuff that we heard in the first
movie, it works but not as well as it did the first
time we heard it.

Saw 2 really disappointed me. While its predecessor
is one of the best American horror thrillers of the
last couple of years, this was just an average teen
slasher flick with a couple of really stupid twists.
I really hope that they go back more to the original
concept in the third movie as I am sure that there
will be one.
