Jigsaw is on his deathbed and together with his female
accomplice, Amanda, he has kidnapped doctor Lynn
Denlon in hope of surviving the night. She has to
make sure that Jigsaw stays alive through his latest
test or she will die a gruesome death. Meanwhile, Jeff
wakes up inside a wooden box, only to realize that his
night will be filled with unpleasant encounters. As he
stumbles through dark corridors, he finds people who
have in some way been part of his son's death - and
he gets to decide whether their lives should be spared
or not... live or die, make their choice.

After an unoriginal and disappointingly average sequel,
Jigsaw is back for one final test (though seeing as
how this made back its entire budget in the opening
day, I'm pretty sure this won't be the end). Blood will
be shed when Jigsaw comes up with his most advanced
test to date. This time, Jigsaw is on his deathbed and
with Amanda by his side, they decide to kidnap doctor
Lynn Denlon who's supposed to save his life - if she
fails to do so, she will die a gruesome death.

At first I thought that the movie lacked a red line,
there was too much going on and I felt like they had
more or less just thrown a couple of stories together
which didn't have any connection to each other. Luckily,
as the movie went along, it started focusing on two
of the plots rather than four or five like in the
beginning. The two plots being;
1. Lynn trying to save Jigsaw's life while Amanda's
trying to cope with a mental breakdown.
2. Jeff, a lonely father, stumbling around inside an
old factory (or something like that), and having to
decide whether to save or kill people who were in some
way connected to his sons death.

The second plot was to me much more interesting as you
can understand how Jeff would want his revenge. His
son died in a tragic car accident and the killer got
away with six months - naturally you have to be upset
about something like that. And if you have to endanger
your own life to save someone who's hurt you this badly,
would you really do it? I think not. Meanwhile, the
story about Lynn having to try Jigsaw's life is less
interesting. Shawnee Smith, playing Amanda, overacts
and becomes less relatable by each frame. Bahar Soomekh,
playing Lynn, feels way too calm for the situation even
if she breaks out in tears every now and then, and the
whole situation felt a bit exaggerated.

Naturally, the two plots tie together in a twist ending,
and I have to say, this twist was much better than the
one in "Saw 2". Yeah, pretty much everything about this
movie was better than the previous one. The pace is
better, the story is more interesting and overall, this
is a whole lot more entertaining. This would be a great
way to end the Saw franchise indeed, but as I said
before, I don't think that's going to happen any time
soon - at least not when it keeps making this much money.

Everyone's raving about how gory this is, but I didn't
think it was all that brutal. Perhaps it was because
of the fact that the gore scenes don't make you cringe
in this one. I mean, no one can relate to how it feels
to get your arm twisted until it bleeds. Anyway, while
I don't want to give too much away, we get some gory
hook action, a rip cage opened up, a slit throat, and
a whole lot more.

Saying that the Saw franchise is successful due to its
powerful soundtrack would be a lie. There's nothing
special about it at all.

Surprisingly clever end to the Saw franchise, and I truly
hope that this is the final Saw movie, even if I know
that the chances are slim. If you're a fan of the Saw
movies, you will not be disappointed, it delivers what
it promises - and a whole lot more than that as well.
Let's just hope that if there is another sequel, they
will take it in a whole new direction, because to me,
this is the REAL end to the Saw franchise.
