Scare 2 Die is a horror anthology consisting of three
tales. The first one involves a deadly game of mahjong,
the second one involves a nightmare coming true and
the third one involves a teenager who signs up for a
game show and gets more than he bargained for.

Hong Kong horror movies. Oh god. Where do I even start?
Every once in a while, Hong Kong produces a decent
horror flick such as The Eye but for most of the time,
this little country produces worse horror flicks than
Indonesia. I have no idea why this is but they seem
to be getting worse by each movie. Heck, I couldn't
even make it through the last HK horror flick "Yes,
I can see dead people" and I almost didn't make it
through this one either. Scare 2 Die is a really poor
and rather pathetic horror anthology with three bizarre
horror stories that make little to no sense at all.
Let's go through them one by one, shall we?

The first story revolves around Au Cun who's addicted
to the game mahjong. He's in a lot of debts and is
desperate to win some money so that he can pay the
loan sharks back and support his pregnant wife. He
receives a magic coin which is said to bring him good
luck - but good luck has a price. Soon enough he starts
winning money but the people that he plays with usually
end up dead in some morbid way - and he's also put his
wife's life at risk. This was just such an incredibly
crappy story that I couldn't even believe someone came
up with it. It's just bad in every possible way. It's
not scary, it's not entertaining, it's not funny, it's
nothing. It really is nothing. The acting is mediocre,
the directing is mediocre and the story is quite
difficult to follow - probably since it never manages
to get you interested.

Speaking about difficult to follow, the second story
makes absolutely no sense at all. It's about some
random woman who wakes up and realizes that everyone
in her building have become cannibals. Mkay? Don't
even get me started on the vague plot of this story.
It makes no fucking sense. The funny thing is, this
segment was far more entertaining than the first one
due to the fact that it was fast-paced and had a
decent amount of gore in it. In fact, this was the best
one of the three segments and still I had no idea what
was going on for most of the time. Now do you understand
how truly awful this anthology was?

If not, let's move on to the third and final segment
which revolves around a teenager who is desperate for
money. He decides to join a game show in the hopes of
winning a cash prize but naturally this game show is all
about the terror. This segment was unoriginal, weird,
and most likely unscripted. Once again we have a story
that makes no sense at all and during the final
5 minutes I was sleeping comfortably on my couch. Man
what a waste. Can you believe that crap like this
actually get wide releases in Hong Kong? Of course
this movie flopped but still, why do they keep making
these nonsense horror flicks? It's quite obvious that
no one likes them. For fans of movies like "Yes, I can
see dead people", "Haunted School", "Forest of Death",
"Dial D For Demons" and other crappy Hong Kong flicks,
I'm sure this will be quite enjoyable but I just hated
it. I can't help myself, this was just bad.

We get a chopped off arm, an impalement, a piece of a
foot and some more that I can't be bothered getting
into. Not as gory as the posters make it out to be.

Awful.

What a disaster. Hong Kong cinema is getting worse by
each day and I can't believe that crap like this even
gets made. Shouldn't the production company at least
have read the script before green lighting it? And if
they did, shame on them. Absolute rubbish.
