Many years ago a young girl had her face peeled
off by her stepfather, he then dumped her in the
lake in the forest and killed himself and his
wife moments later. Legend has it that the young
girl has lived in the forest ever since. A family
decides to go camping in the exact same forest,
what they don't know, is that the legend is real!

Fangoria wrote an article on this movie a while
ago and the plot sounded pretty interesting so
I decided to check it out. Unfortunately this
movie turned out to be anything but interesting.
The villain is obviously inspired by Leatherface
as she kills her victims by pealing their face
off to then wear it. As you can hear the plot
is pretty ridiculous, however it does have some
potential. The woman looks pretty creepy and it
is a pretty suspenseful movie.

If this would have been a teen slasher it would
probably have been a whole lot better but I guess
that they wanted to make this feel like an 80s
backwoods slasher flick. Well, they succeeded in
the way that it feels very cheesy. The main
problem that this movie has however is the sounds
that the woman is making, it makes her feel a
lot less scary.

The movie looks professional and the directing
is pretty neat, the only thing that bothered
me was the bad lighting. It seems as if they
only used natural light sources while making
the movie so in other words, the photography
is heavily flawed. The acting is relatively good
as well even though the bond of the family feels
very pushed and made-up.

I'm still not sure whether the rating 2/5 is
fair or not because if they would have skipped
the stupid noises the woman made I'm sure I
would have given it a higher rating. Anyway,
this was not a very good movie even though if
it wasn't a complete waste of time.

Only some peeled off faces and a slit throat,
nothing special.

Rather atmospheric and nice soundtrack still
this was anything but original.

Unimpressive slasher flick with one of the worst
villains ever which completely ruins the entire
movie. Also, you should never have a family
in a slasher flick, it just doesn't work.
