A couple of friends go to an abandoned school for a partyfilled night
alone from the civilisation. When the school seems to be haunted and
a mad security guard shows up, killing the friends. They have to do
everything in their power to prevent a new massacre like the one that
shut the school down 27 years ago.

This totally creepy ghost slasher, which sent shivers to my backbones
through the entire movie, has to be one of the best thought out slashers
ever. First we get to know everyone so that we feel for them and want
them to survive. Then we get to know the story of the teens back in the
70's who got killed, which was also very well developed and would've
been great as a stand-alone movie itself. The whole movie is very creepy
and there is always something going on or some twist to it, which keeps
your interest at max.

The acting is as good as it gets from just about everyone. I liked Sandra
the most though, as she stuck out from the regular slasher bimbos and had
her lip pierced and blue short hair, not the regular slasher girl. I wasn't
very surprised to see that none of the actors/actresses were blonde, as it
is a Spanish movie. Carlos Gil certainly proves to us that he is one hell
of a director. The darkblue light creates the perfect atmosphere for a
horrormovie, and the scenes with the rooms turning the light on are genuinely
creepy. He also manages to give us plenty of surprises that I can't tell you
about since then it would be no surprise for you. All I can say is that I
can't wait for Gil to direct another horrormovie.

This is one of those movies that stick with you for a while after you've
watched it. As many slashers, and horrormovies in general tend to often
get boring or ridiculous at the end, this movie just gets better and
better at the end, to finish off with one of the best endings I have
ever seen. I hope that Artisan or some other company releases this Spanish
horrormovie as I think that USA deserves to watch some good horror. I also
think that this would do quite good at the video charts if it were released
in USA, but the chances of it getting distribution is quite low since it
has only been released in Spain, and it didn't even get a cinema release there.

This movie is not about the gore, even though there is quite a high bodycount.
Most of the killings are just very bloody, and that's a good thing, because
the blood looks totally realistic. We do get a lot of scared, bloody faces,
an axe in one's head, a wooden pole through one's stomach and someone gets
the head cut off, so there is gore. One thing that you got to love about this
movie is that none of the killings are off screen.

The soundtrack for School Killer is quite unusual for modern day horrormovies.
It almost felt as if I was watching one of those good old classic haunted house
movies from the 60's or something. But we also get a lot of cool Spanish rock
music, which I was aching for from the beginning of the movie, I was well made
up when I finally got it. Oh and let's not forget about the 70's pop music that
we get in the flashback scenes.

One of the best slashers, if you want to call it a slasher, of all time. As I
don't think it will be distributed in USA for quite a while, I suggest that
you order this movie on DVD from www.diabolikdvd.com. The DVD includes English
subtitles so don't worry about that. This is the next DVD you should order in
my opinion, not often we get this kind of horrormovies anymore.
