Some girls are going on a trip along with their teacher and
bus driver to a dance. Just as they are about to leave, the
teacher decides to bring the new girl in the school to the
dance aswell. The other girls are all very impressed by how
mature the girl is and how cool she is but when their car
breaks down in the middle of nowhere and they are forced to
spend the night at a hillbillies car dump, the girls start
turning against eachother. As they start ending up dead one
by one, they have to figure out who the killer is, but
everyone seems to be a suspect.

Coming from York Home Video, I was almost certain that I would
love this new slasherparody. I was right. Scream Bloody Murder
was a killer comedy in the vein of Psycho Beach Party. I laughed
out loud more times than I did with Legally Blonde. There was
one joke that I especially loved, spoilers ahead, see, this
girl had gotten hick-ups and all of a sudden the hillbilly
started going mad with a knife and all the girls were screaming
and the teacher went 'What are you doing?' or something like
that and he goes 'Oh, she had hick-ups so I scared her' or
something like that. Anyway, that scene was hilarious.
End of spoilers.

The acting was York standard, and York standard is usually very
good. I know I go on and on about how much I love York Home Video
but remember, they don't support the site so I have no reason
to lie. The directing is another story though, while it looks
quite good for through most of the movie, some of the darker
scenes are very bad. They look cheap and you are thinking like
'Please change angle so that we can see what's going on'.
Anyway, it looks good enough but not cinema material.

I wouldn't say that this is comparable to Scary Movie, because
Scary Movie had just exaggerated humour while this had more
clever jokes and it had a few points aswell. I thought that the
names where very clever aswell, we get names like Candy, Honey
and Star. However much I loved this movie, it still doesn't live
up to Psycho Beach Party, but almost, this one is funnier but
Psycho Beach Party has more class and a more thought through
story. This story felt as if it was made up in one or two days.
All in all, this is great stuff, but there are a few things that
bring down the rating one bar.

Considering that this was a horror comedy, it was still pretty
gory, a hayfork impalement and an exploding stomach among other
things are what we are treated with.

A lot of pop/rock music, which really is quite cool but sometimes
the vocalist doesn't feel in pace with the music. There's also
some piano music but that's nothing extraordinary at all.

Hilarious horrorcomedy with a few clever points and many jokes,
this does not work as a horrormovie at all but on the other hand,
it wasn't intended to be a horrormovie, nor is it a spoof. This
is just classic fun. If you liked Psycho Beach Party, I highly
suggest this one, however, if you're looking for a scary film,
don't get fooled by the box, this was only made for bringing you
giggles and laughs.
