Casey is a very special 17-year old boy. While
his classmates want to get a great job when
they finish college, his main priority is
becoming a serial killer. He seeks help from the
love of his life, Sasha, who's also interested
in serial killers. But it seems as if someone
beat him to it. There's now a serial killer
slaughtering all Casey's upcoming victims before
he even gets the chance. Now Casey and Sasha
has to figure out for themselves, who's the
mysterious serial killer?

Does the title remind you of Horror 101? Good,
they are both very similar and they are both
equally good. Nothing special but mindless fun
with a wannabe goodlooking cast. This is just
as I expected it to be, more of a thriller-
comedy than anything else. But it does have a
couple of good laughs though. There's this one
scene where Casey is dreaming that he's killing
two of his teachers in front of his mother and
his mother goes "Casey! You can't keep killing
your teachers, you'll fail class!". Classic.

When the opening titles began I recognized a
couple of the names but I couldn't remember from
where. Apparently, Lisa Loeb, the girl playing
Sasha, is the news reporter from House On Haunted
Hill. She should be around 26 years old now and
still you can't tell that she's not a teenager.
Amazing what trashy clothes can do. She's a
talented actress however so it was fun to see
her in a bigger role.

Another name to be recognized is Justin Urich.
I actually knew where I had seen him before as
soon as he started talking. You guessed it!
No other movie than Horror 101. He sure seems
to love that number. His performance here is
average and I didn't feel as if he was a very
strong actor.

Speaking of surprises, the director of this
movie is actually the writer of the cheesy but
very entertaining The Bachelor rip-off TV-series
"For Love or Money". I guess we know how he got
this movie financed now. Anyway, the directing
is far from professional and the movie feels
much too grey and colorless. Quite disappointing
actually as it looks as if it had a fairly
high budget for a DTV movie.

Serial Killing 101 might not be a very good
horrorcomedy but it's still a pretty good way
to kill an hour and a half. There's always
something going on here and that's what keeps
it interesting. I don't think I was bored
once actually so if you're looking for some
mindless fun, check this flick out, just
don't expect another American Psycho.

Too bad that the best murder is a joke; the
one where a teacher gets his head chopped off.
One guy gets a giant, well I'm no carpenter
so I'll just say a giant metallic round razor
thing in his head.

This was probably the worst thing about the
movie. The soundtrack consists solely of really
bad rock music. There's this one time where
Casey says something like "Shut up" and then
music starts playing and a guy screams "Shut
Up" numerous times. Pathetic.

If you liked Horror 101, you'll probably like
this one too but I just think that both this and
Horror 101 where average horrorcomedies so if
you miss this one, it's not a big deal. This
is nothing special, just a decent way to kill
and hour and a half. Check it out if you have
nothing better to watch.
