A serial killer terrorizes his victim by going around
on their roofs to then kill them with his crossbow.
When a girl is hosting a slumber party for her colleagues,
only two girls show up since everybody's afraid to go
out of their houses. After a while strange things begin
to happen around the three girls and it seems as if
they have become the killers next target. Will they be
able to get out of the house or will they all die?

Serial Slayer might be a new title to most people, but
perhaps some of you remember the upcoming flick
Claustrophobia? They had a poster contest up on their
site. Well, I've done some research (and by that I mean
I've checked on IMDB) and it turns out that this is
actually the same flick but under a more suitable title.
See, the movie really hasn't got anything to do with
the subject claustrophobia, except for perhaps the fact
that the three women want to get out of the house.
Anyway, the movie opens with a terrible opening scene
which is classic for slashers. An old woman gets killed
in her home by the masked killer, and suspicions of a
possible low budget slasher starts growing.

Later we learn that it's actually not a slasher at all.
It's actually a rather suspenseful thriller, though it
lacks of a complex story. See the story basically goes
like this:
Woman #1: Oh no! There’s a killer on the roof!
Woman #2: Let's get out!
Woman #3: That's a good idea.
and that's how it carries on like for the entire movie.
It does get worn out with the time but the first three
or so attempts of getting out of the house were pretty
damn suspenseful so I'm cutting it some slack story wise.

The acting is far from good and all three girls are
brilliant at overacting. One is the bitchy girl, one is
the smart and sensitive girl and one is the geeky loser
girl. I mean, their parts were basically made for over-
acting so who can blame them for doing so. Even if it
does have its flaws and slow parts, it's actually not
half as bad as it looks to be by the cover. Everyone
knows that with a DVD sleeve like that, you're usually
not in for a good movie. Well, it might not be Oscar
worthy but it's good enough for an hour and twenty
minutes. That's one of the things that I really liked
about the movie. It knew about its own weaknesses so
instead of dragging it out for almost two hours, they
decided to make the running time shorter. Smart move!

Some dart arrows here and there and a gory bruised foot.

The score was very basic, some averagely good piano music,
some pretty suspenseful atmospheric music and some other
forgettable music. Eh, pretty dull but fair enough.

Even if this hasn't got a very complex story, it's not
that bad. Who knew that it could actually be entertaining
to watch three paranoid women being trapped inside a
house. Well, I didn't anyway.
