A bunch of prisoners escape into the desert and
soon find out about a treasure which is supposed
to be hidden in a small town in the desert. When
they reach the town, they realize that everything
has its price as the town is inhabited by flesh
eating vampires.

Tombs Of The Blind Dead meets From Dusk Till Dawn
in this low budget horror flick. After just having
sat through the abysmal horror flick "Night Fangs"
I really wasn't in the mood for another vampire
flick, so when this turned out to be more of a
vampire flick than a mummy flick, I was very
disappointed. We've all seen this before, small
death valley looking town inhabited by some sort
of evil beings attacking people isn't exactly my
idea of an original, nor entertaining movie. And
the fact that the mummies that are only seen in
the last 10 minutes or so of the movie have been
used for the title is just ridiculous. This should
have been called "Vampire Terror" or something
cheesy like that.

Cerina Vincent seems to be starring in many DTV
horror flicks these days, and as I think she's a
very talented actress, that's just a good thing.
What bothered me was that even though she had a
starring role in this movie, she only has about
ten lines or something in the entire movie, for
most of the time she just gets to stay quiet. This
was a big flaw since the rest of the cast is
anything but impressive. The directing is terrible
with weird angles and horrible transitions.

Seven Mummies isn't completely worthless though.
It's just a very forgettable vampire flick which
disappears from your memory as soon as the end
credits start rolling. If you enjoy the occasional
low budget vampire flick, it might be a good idea
to check this one out, but don't expect anything
new and original as I can guarantee that you've
seen plenty of movies with an almost identical
plot many times before.

Some minor gore in this one actually. We get a
tongue bit off, a scissor in ones eye, and a
pretty cool decapitation.

The soundtrack is pretty average with some cool
hip-hop music and some very fitting rock music.

Very forgettable vampire/mummy flick. This movie
was probably as unoriginal as they get but it
does manage to entertain you at some level since
it goes by pretty quickly. For vampire fans only,
don't let the title fool you.
